Systems and methods for delivering fluid to a wound therapy dressing
Systems and methods for delivery of fluid to a wound therapy dressing. In exemplary embodiments, a pressure sensor measures the pressure at the wound therapy dressing and restricts fluid flow to the wound therapy dressing when a predetermined pressure is achieve.
Sustained variable negative pressure wound treatment and method of controlling same
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for providing reduced or negative pressure, and more particularly cyclical reduced pressure, to treat a wound. The system can include a wound dressing, a fluid collection container, a suction source, filters, and conduits. In addition, the system can include a control device and sensors. The sensors may be configured to monitor certain physiological conditions of a patient such as temperature, pressure, blood flow, blood oxygen saturation, pulse, cardiac cycle, and the like. Application of cyclical reduced pressure between two or more values below atmospheric pressure may be synchronized with the physiological conditions monitored by the sensors. Certain embodiments of the system utilize an air reservoir and one or more valves and pressure sensors or gauges to allow for rapid cycling of the level of reduced pressure within the wound dressing between two or more reduced pressure values.
WOUND THERAPY SYSTEM WITH WOUND VOLUME ESTIMATION
A wound therapy system includes a negative pressure circuit configured to apply negative pressure to a wound, a pump fluidly coupled to the negative pressure circuit and operable to control the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit, a pressure sensor configured to measure the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit or at the wound and a controller communicably coupled to the pump and the pressure sensor. The controller is configured to execute a pressure testing procedure including applying a pressure stimulus to the negative pressure circuit, observe a dynamic pressure response of the negative pressure circuit to the pressure stimulus using pressure measurements recorded by the pressure sensor, and estimate a wound volume of the wound based on the dynamic pressure response.
NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY DEVICE STATUS INDICATION USING A CANISTER
Disclosed systems and methods relate to status indication using a canister of negative pressure wound therapy apparatus. A method of providing a visual indication to a user of a negative pressure wound therapy apparatus can include, by a controller of the negative pressure wound therapy apparatus, determining a plurality of conditions associated with provision of negative pressure wound therapy by a negative pressure source of the negative pressure wound therapy apparatus and causing provision of a plurality of visual indications associated with the plurality of conditions to a user and, by at least one light pipe, transmitting light associated with at least one visual indication of the plurality of visual indications through at least a portion of an interior volume of a canister of the negative pressure wound therapy apparatus.
REDUCED PRESSURE TREATMENT SYSTEM
A wound treatment apparatus is provided for treating tissue damage, which comprises a fluid impermeable wound cover sealed over a site for purposes of applying a reduced pressure to the site. The apparatus also can include a cover with protrusions on its surface for purposes of monitoring pressure at the site. One or more sensors can be positioned under the cover to provide feedback to a suction pump controller. The apparatus can have a miniature and portable vacuum source connected to the wound cover.
Waste Collection Unit Including A Reservoir Supported On A Portable Cart For Storing Liquid When Positioned Away From A Docking Station
A waste collection unit for collecting waste material. A reservoir is supported on a portable cart for storing a liquid on the portable cart when positioned away from a docking station. A sprinkler may be coupled to the waste container and in fluid communication with the reservoir. The sprinkler is configured to direct the liquid from the reservoir towards the waste container. The reservoir is configured to receive additional liquid from the docking station to urge the liquid from the reservoir towards the sprinkler. A prefill pump may be supported on the portable cart and in fluid communication with the waste container and operable to convey the liquid from the reservoir to the waste container. A controller may be in electronic communication with a valve assembly to control flow of the liquid from the docking station into at least one of the reservoir and a second waste container.
CHEMICAL PUMP HOUSING FOR NEGATIVE PRESSURE SYSTEM
A chemical pump assembly useful for negative pressure therapy includes a chemical pump housing having an inner chamber, a reactor located within the inner chamber, an opening provided in the chemical pump housing, a first pull tab which extends from the inner chamber to ambient through the opening, and a removable layer connected to the first pull tab. The reactor is configured to react with a selected gas found in air so as to consume the selected gas when exposed to air in the inner chamber. The removable layer shields the reactor from air in the inner chamber atmosphere until the removable layer is removed.
System for drainage of fluids or wound secretion
The invention relates to a system for drainage of fluids or wound secretion from body and/or tissue openings of the human or animal body comprising a bag-like reservoir for collecting the fluid or wound secretion, with an upper inlet opening and a lower outlet opening, and a pre-evacuated container with an inlet opening, wherein the inlet opening of the pre-evacuated container is connected to the lower outlet opening of the bag-shaped reservoir.
Hands-Free Suction Apparatus
An apparatus for suctioning matter expelled during treatments involving an orifice of a patient; the apparatus includes a suction head, a conduit attached to the suction head and a suction device for attaching the conduit thereto, thereby putting the suction head in communication with the suction device. The conduit includes a flexible and bendable body that is easily manipulated into different positions and supports the suction head about the orifice of the patient during treatment. Preferably, the orifice is a mouth, and the treatment is a dental treatment. In this embodiment, the apparatus provides for the hands-free suction of aerosols and/or saliva and blood splatter produced from the mouth of the patient during the dental treatment.
Arithmetic coding for information related to sample adaptive offset processing
An image coding method includes: performing context arithmetic coding to consecutively code (i) first information indicating whether or not to perform sample adaptive offset (SAO) processing for a first region of an image and (ii) second information indicating whether or not to use, in the SAO processing for the first region, information on SAO processing for a region other than the first region, the context arithmetic coding being arithmetic coding using a variable probability, the SAO processing being offset processing on a pixel value; and performing bypass arithmetic coding to code other information which is information on the SAO processing for the first region and different from the first information or the second information, after the first information and the second information are coded, the bypass arithmetic coding being arithmetic coding using a fixed probability.
