The negative pressure member is communicated with third cavity.

ANTI-CLOG SUCTION TIP APPARATUS AND METHOD
20170290962 · 2017-10-12 ·

An anti-clog suction tip apparatus includes a suction tip having a suction opening and an interior defining a suction channel. An ejection wire channel extends to a wire exit opening into the suction channel that is located proximate the suction opening. An ejection wire including a ball tip at an end thereof occupies the ejection wire channel and is transitionable between a retracted configuration and an advanced configuration such that, in the retracted configuration, the ejection wire including the ball tip is retained within the ejection wire channel and does not obstruct suctioning of debris through the suction channel; and in the advanced configuration, the ball tip of the ejection wire does not extend more than three millimeters beyond the suction opening.

CLOSED SUCTION SYSTEM

A cleaning catheter insertable into a ventilation tube and an input module are provided, the input module coupled to the cleaning catheter and including (i) an inflation module, including an inflation chamber and a one-way air inlet valve; (ii) a flow regulator, configured to assume first and second fluid-control states; and (iii) a mechanical user control element, which is configured (a) to mechanically and non-electrically set the fluid-control states, (b) to assume first and second configurations, and (c) to mechanically and non-electrically increase pressure in an interior of an inflation chamber of the cleaning catheter during a transition of the mechanical user control element from the first configuration to the second configuration. The one-way air inlet valve is arranged to allow air to flow into the inflation chamber during a transition of the mechanical user control element from the second configuration to the first configuration.

SYSTEMS and METHODS FOR REMOVING UNDESIRABLE MATERIAL WITHIN A CIRCULATORY SYSTEM UTILIZING DURING A SURGICAL PROCEDURE

A method for capturing dislodged vegetative growth during a surgical procedure is provided. The method includes maneuvering, into a circulatory system, a first cannula having a distal end and an opposing proximal end, such that the first cannula is positioned to capture the vegetative growth en bloc. A second cannula is positioned in fluid communication with the first cannula, such that a distal end of the second cannula is situated in spaced relation to the distal end of the first cannula. A suction force is provided through the distal end of the first cannula so as to capture the vegetative growth. Fluid removed by the suction force is reinfused through the distal end of the second cannula. Subsequent to becoming dislodged, the vegetative growth is captured by the first cannula. A method for capturing a vegetative growth during removal of a pacemaker lead is also provided.

SUCTION FORCE ADJUSTMENT APPARATUS FOR ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION, AND ULTRASOUND ENDOSCOPE
20170055942 · 2017-03-02 · ·

An adjustment apparatus is used for ultrasound examination of a subject by transmitting ultrasound to the subject and receiving the ultrasound reflected from the subject. The apparatus includes: a change unit configured such that one end is connected to a suction pump and the other end is provided at a portion of a channel leading to a contact portion with the subject, to change suction force of the suction pump on the other end; and a damper for suppressing change in the suction force. The change unit includes: a cylinder having first and second portions for communicating with one end side and the other end side of the channel, respectively; a piston slidable in the cylinder to change a communication state between the first and second portions; and a spring for biasing the piston toward a direction of causing the first and second portions not to communicate with each other.

SUCTION INSTRUMENT WITH DEFORMABLE MULTI-PIECE GRIP ASSEMBLY

During surgery, debris being cleared from the target anatomy may inadvertently inhibit fluid communication between a suction instrument and a suction source. Therefore, it may be desirable to facilitate access to interior portions of the suction instrument and control of the amount of suction being provided through the suction instrument. The suction instrument can include an elongate cannula with a distal portion configured to be positioned within or adjacent to an anatomical passageway of a patient. The elongate cannula can define a suction lumen that can provide suction at the distal portion. A handle assembly can be associated with the elongate cannula and include a deformable grasping body defining a fluid communication chamber that can provide suction to the suction lumen. The deformable grasping body can elastically deform between relaxed and compressed states to alter the fluid communication between the fluid communication chamber and the suction lumen.
