Flue for Ultrasonic Aspiration Surgical Horn
A flue for use with an ultrasonic surgical tip, having a base and one or more overmold portions. The flue base may include a connector on opposing ends of a base body. The one or more overmold portions may be positioned on opposing ends of the flue. The tip may include one or more third horn members in half-wavelengths.
Multi-stage trigger for ophthalmology cutting tool
A medical device for removing lens tissue from inside a capsular bag of an eye including a cam assembly operatively coupled to a vacuum generation source positioned within the housing. A first portion is operatively coupled to the vacuum generation source and a second portion is operatively coupled to the first portion and to the shaft. The first portion is capable of rotating about an axis to cause the vacuum generation source to generate vacuum through the lumen. The second portion is capable of rotating about the axis with the first portion to cause the shaft to oscillate. A first degree of actuation of a trigger causes the vacuum generation source to generate vacuum within the lumen of the shaft, and a second degree of actuation of the trigger causes the shaft to oscillate as the second portion rotates. Related systems, devices, and methods are provided.
PHACOEMULSIFICATION AND I/A SLEEVES
Irrigation sleeves which maximize irrigation outflow and have a reduced potential for snagging on incisions are disclosed. More particularly, disclosed irrigation sleeves comprise webbed irrigation ports, crossed irrigation ports, axially elongated irrigation ports, and/or centering dimples. The disclosed irrigation sleeves may further provide optimal irrigation outflow for maintaining chamber stability of the eye.
Systems and methods for aspiration and monitoring
A system for aspiration includes an aspiration catheter including an elongate shaft including an aspiration lumen, and an open distal end, an extension tube, the lumen of the extension tube configured to be hydraulically coupled to the aspiration lumen, a peristaltic pump configured for driving fluid through the extension tube, a compressible portion disposed between the distal end and the proximal end of the extension tube, the compressible portion configured to be coupled to the peristaltic pump, such that operation of the peristaltic pump drives fluid from the aspiration lumen from the distal end of the extension tube to the proximal end of the extension tube, and a controller configured to receive a first signal from the first sensor and configured to vary the operation of the peristaltic pump based at least in part on a first signal received from a first sensor coupled to the aspiration lumen or extension tube related to a change in the characteristic of flow.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE KIDNEY STONE REMOVAL BY COMBINED ASPIRATION AND IRRIGATION
Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for the removal of objects from the body. The device may be a urethral catheter configured to aspirate kidney stones from the urinary tract through one or more aspiration ports at the distal face or along a lateral side of the catheter. The catheter may include one or more irrigation ports at the distal face or along the lateral side of the catheter for dislodging kidney stones. The device may be steerable. The spatial arrangement of the one or more irrigation ports with respect to the one or more aspiration ports may vary. The device may include an irrigation tube and/or a shield member configured to spatially confine the kidney stones adjacent the catheter. Various temporal patterns of aspiration and irrigation are disclosed for optimizing removal of kidney stones.
CATHETER TIP
An aspiration catheter can include an elongate shaft and an instrument base coupled to the shaft and configured to control actuation of at least a distal portion of the shaft. The shaft can include a lumen configured to couple to an aspiration system to provide aspiration to a target site, such as to remove an object from a patient. At least a portion of the distal end portion of the shaft can include an inner diameter that is smaller than an inner diameter of the rest of shaft to prevent objects that are larger than a particular size from entering.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVAL OF BLOOD AND THROMBOTIC MATERIAL
An extension conduit for use with a system for aspirating thrombus includes a passageway extending between a distal end and a proximal end of the extension conduit, and a combined hydraulic and electrical control carried on the extension conduit and configured to be activated by a user to activate an electric switch while opening a valve to allow flow through the passageway.
Medical/surgical lavage unit with a pump that includes a bellows chamber and a supplemental chamber
A lavage unit may include a handpiece configured to house a pump to which an irrigation tube is connected. The pump may include a bellows defining a pump chamber. When the bellows is reciprocated by a linkage, the bellows draws irrigation fluid from the irrigation tube into the pump chamber and then discharges the fluid out of the pump chamber through an outlet. The pump further includes a section formed from compressible or flexible material that defines a supplemental chamber. The linkage is connected to said pump to alternatively compress the bellows forming the pump chamber and the material forming the supplemental chamber. During the movement of the linkage a valve located between the pump chamber and the supplemental chamber reciprocates with the linkage.
NASAL IRRIGATION ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM
An assembly for nasal irrigation for the handheld irrigation of a user's nasal cavity comprising a housing with a refill chamber containing irrigating fluid, an applicator, an actuator for forcing irrigating fluid from the refill chamber through the applicator into the user's nasal cavity during operation, and a solution port for refilling the refill chamber. Some embodiments of the present invention may further comprise a system for nasal irrigation that includes the assembly for nasal irrigation or handheld irrigator, as well as a solution assembly structured for dispensing irrigating fluid to the handheld irrigator, a docking station for removably housing the handheld irrigator, a solution assembly and a refill control, including a check valve.
Apparatus and Methods for Controlled Clot Aspiration
A blood clot removal system including an aspiration catheter, an external unit having a first pressure sensor, a base unit having a second pressure sensor, a vacuum source connected to the base unit, connection tubing connecting the external unit to the aspiration catheter and the base unit, controllable sensory indicators, and a controller to receive a first pressure from the first pressure sensor and a second pressure from the second pressure sensor, determine a pressure differential based on the first pressure and the second pressure, determine a current catheter state from a plurality of catheter states based on the pressure differential, and transmit, via the one or more sensory indicators, one or more sensory indications of the current catheter state.
