A system for processing fluids and filling a container with a product includes a disposable fluid circuit and reusable hardware configured to accept the disposable fluid circuit. The disposable fluid circuit includes a spinning membrane separator, first and second syringes, and a flow control cassette. The reusable hardware includes a drive coupled to the spinning membrane separator, first and second syringe pumps, the first and second syringes coupled to the first and second syringe pumps respectively, and a controller. The system also includes a syringe pump for filling low-volume containers, which syringe pump may be one of the first and second syringe pumps, or may be a third syringe pump. The syringe pump for filling low-volume containers may include a filtered vacuum/pressure source and a position detector.

Methods of harvesting cancellous bone and bone marrow include extracting loosened cancellous bone and bone marrow—including a liquid component thereof—to a collection container that has a first cup and a suction port to which a suction source is connected. After extraction, the suction source is disconnected and a lid of the collection container is removed and replaced with a lid having a plunger with a press head that is configured to filter the extracted liquid by depressing the plunger toward a bottom of the first cup. The filtered liquid is poured through a suction port into a second cup while depressing the plunger, thereby separating the liquid from a semi-solid mass of cancellous bone that remains. The bone is extracted through a cortical opening in the femur, tibia, or calcaneus, or from an intermedullary canal that is preferably formed by reaming of the tibia using an orthopedic reamer.

In some illustrative examples, a bridge suitable for treating a tissue site may include a bridge sealing member and one or more bridge wicking layers. The bridge sealing member may extend along a length of the bridge, and may define an internal passageway in fluid communication between a receiving end of the bridge and a transmitting end of the bridge. The one or more bridge wicking layers may be disposed within the internal passageway of the bridge sealing member. Other apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

A fluid drainage device which includes a fluid-receiving volume, a cover which is movable between a first limiting position at which an inlet port is in fluid communication with the volume and a second limiting position at which an outlet port is in fluid communication with the volume, a piston which is movable inside the volume between a first position and a second position, a handle which is moveable in a first direction to cause the piston to move to the first position and to store energy in a spring so that, when the cover is in the first limiting position the piston is moveable by energy released from the spring to reduce pressure in the volume, allowing fluid flow through the inlet port, and wherein movement of the handle in a second direction causes the piston to move to the second position thereby expelling fluid from the volume.

A method for facilitating milk extraction from a female breast may involve applying a breast contacting portion of a breast pump system to a breast, activating the breast pump system to administer multiple breast pumping cycles, and applying vibrations to the breast during at least a portion of each of the breast pumping cycles, using a vibration device. A vibration generating device may be a component of a breast pump system, an added attachment on a breast pump system or a separate component that works in conjunction with a breast pump system.
