Hard hat lamp attachment system
A hard hat with symmetric front and back mounting ridges to support a headlamp is described. The hard hat provides mounting ridges to receive insertion slots of a rigid mounting bracket that fit around the ridges. The rigid mounting bracket includes channels to loop a strap through the channels and support a lamp on the bracket. The strap may include a hook and loop fastener system to enable attachment of a variety of lamps to the rigid support bracket. In this way, the hard hat can support a wide variety of headlamps attached to the rigid mounting bracket without destructive alterations to the hard hat. Clips may be added to the rigid mounting bracket to secure or lock the bracket in place during operation and prevent accidental knocks or jarring of the headlamp.
Safety device and method to prevent use of the same device if faulty
The present invention discloses a safety device adapted to prevent workers from going into hazardous environment, such as underground using the faulty safety device. As a safety device, typically embodied as a cap lamp, must be charged prior to each use, the device is adapted to detect when the device is removed from the charger. The device starts to blink continuously when disconnected from the charger. An automated test procedure is completed on the device. The user may also complete a manual portion of the test procedure to make the device usable. When the test procedure is completed successfully, the lamp stops blinking. If the test procedure is not successful, the lamp continues blinking to effectively prevent user from using a faulty device.
Connected helmet system and method of operating the same
A system for controlling a vehicle includes a programming device comprising an application for programming vehicle function settings of a vehicle. The programming device has a transmitter communicating the vehicle function settings of the vehicle. A vehicle receiver is disposed within the vehicle. The vehicle receiver receives the vehicle function settings. A vehicle is controller disposed within the vehicle. A helmet generates a helmet movement signal in response to sensing movement of the helmet. The helmet communicates a helmet identifier to the vehicle controller through the receiver in response to the helmet movement signal. The vehicle controller controls a vehicle function in response to the vehicle function settings.
Head top
A head top has a frame for mounting on a user's head. The frame has a viewing opening for a user to see out of the frame. A shield is mounted to the frame, and can be moved between a open and closed positions. A pivot arm connects the shield to the frame and is mounted to the inside of both the frame and shield to avoid exposure. An outer mount and inner mount can also be provided to automatically adjust the width of the head top. A hinge connects them allowing the inner mount to laterally pivot with respect to the outer mount to accommodate users with different head sizes. A forehead member also adjusts to a user's forehead.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND PROGRAM FOR PROVIDING IMAGE-BASED DRIVING ASSISTANCE GUIDANCE IN WEARABLE HELMET
A method for providing an image-based driving assistance guidance in a wearable helmet includes determining whether guidance is required during a driving by a driver, acquiring a driving image of a moving object that the driver drives, generating guidance information for assisting the driving of the driver based on the driving image when it is determined that the guidance is required, and displaying the generated guidance information through the wearable helmet.
Rail for mounting accessories to a helmet
A mounting rail assembly comprises a rail configured to be coupled to a helmet. The rail may include a rear surface and a front surface with a mounting groove extending along a length of the front surface. The mounting groove may be open outwardly from a front surface of the rail and be configured to couple to a first accessory device at two or more positions along the length of the rail. A recess may be proximate an edge of the mounting rail assembly. The recess may be open generally perpendicular to the mounting groove and configured to receive a second accessory device. At least a portion of the recess may be positioned between the mounting groove and the rear surface of the rail.

Helmet for reducing concussive forces during collision and facilitating rapid facemask removal
An improved design for a helmet to reduce injuries caused by helmet-to-helmet collisions. Certain embodiments include novel quick release features that permit the detachment of a facemask from a helmet in 30 seconds or less so as to attend to an injured player in a rapid fashion. Other aspects relate to impact energy absorbing constructions employing an inner layer, an outer layer spaced apart from the inner padding layer, at least one layer that includes an array of polygonal structures, and at least one layer having a shock-absorbing elastomer, a visco-elastic polymer, an impact dispersing gel, or shape memory material. Still other embodiments include a wireless device with a sensor module coupled to the football helmet generating sensor data in response to an impact to the football helmet.
