Head-mounted display
To provide a head-mounted display that can be mounted on a helmet which can take various shapes, that permits adjustments of a mounting position with respect to the helmet to any desired position, that facilitates mounting and removal, and that permits disposition of a display at any position. A head-mounted display includes a mounting portion that can be removed from a helmet, a connector that is connected with the mounting portion and that allows a position to be freely adjusted. A display is disposed at a distal end of the connector, the display includes a positioner, and a positioned portion at which the positioner is positioned is fixed to the helmet such that a position can be freely adjusted.
Portable system providing augmented vision of surroundings
A portable system providing augmented vision of surroundings. In one embodiment the system includes a helmet, a plurality of camera units and circuitry to generate a composite field of view from channels of video data. The helmet permits a user to receive a first field of view in the surroundings based on optical information received directly from the surroundings with the user's natural vision. The camera units are mounted about the helmet to generate the multiple channels of video data. Each camera channel captures a different field of view of a scene in a region surrounding the helmet.
Apparatus for Improving the Noticeability of a Hat
An apparatus is presented for improving the noticeability of a hat. The apparatus includes a light source configured to produce light upon receiving electrical energy. The apparatus also includes a mount coupled to the light source and configured to selectively attach to and detach from the hat. The mount, when attached to the hat, orients the light source to project light away from an exterior surface of the hat into an ambient environment of the hat. The exterior surface includes at least one of a left-side exterior surface and a right-side exterior surface. The apparatus additionally includes a battery receptacle electrically-coupled to the light source and having electrical contacts for coupling to one or more batteries. Hats having improved noticeability and methods for improving the noticeability of a hat are also presented.
USER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME
Disclosed is a user head mounted protection apparatus. The user head mounted protection apparatus includes a warning element management device that identifies a warning element by using sensing information generated by sensing a nearby object to generate location information of the warning element, a sensor that detects a rotation of the user head mounted protection apparatus to generate rotation angle information, a corrector that corrects the location information of the warning element by using the rotation angle information, a sound source processor that binaurally renders a sound source by using the location information of the warning element or the corrected location information, and an output device that outputs the binaurally rendered sound source.
Carbon Fiber Football Helmet with air bag bladder
The device of this invention comprises: (1) a multi-layer carbon fiber football helmet with four separate interior air bag bladders for padding; (2) Velcro attachments to the interior air bag bladders that connect to the inside of the carbon fiber football helmet at four points, which include the back of the helmet, the front of the helmet, the right side of the helmet, and the left side of the helmet; (3) a clear polycarbonate military grade face shield, (4) an air pump valve with a hose that is attached to the four interior air bag bladders inside the back of the helmet; (5) nylon hardware that attaches the clear polycarbonate face shield to the multi-layer carbon fiber football helmet; (6) a four point chin strap manufactured by Shock Doctor; and (7) a multi-layer carbon fiber chin guard formed to the carbon fiber football helmet adding strength to the helmet.
Interactive inflatable bladder mounted on outside of helmets and other protective equipment
The invention claimed is an interactive inflatable bladder mounted on the outside of any helmet and may be utilized in other forms of protective equipment worn for the purpose of protecting persons from impacts that may cause bodily injury. Helmets are used in numerous sports, activities, and occupations to protect the user from bodily injury resulting from impacts to the head. Existing helmet designs used today are based only on upon post-impact protections. The invention claimed herein improves on pre-impact designs by integrating existing state-of-the-art technologies used in other industries to the helmet to provide pre-impact protections to said post-impact helmet designs. Said system is not limited to helmets and could also be utilized in other forms of protective equipment.
Rail For Mounting Accessories to a Helmet
A mounting rail assembly comprises a rail configured to be coupled to a helmet. The rail may include a rear surface and a front surface with a mounting groove extending along a length of the front surface. The mounting groove may be open outwardly from a front surface of the rail and be configured to couple to a first accessory device at two or more positions along the length of the rail. A recess may be proximate an edge of the mounting rail assembly. The recess may be open generally perpendicular to the mounting groove and configured to receive a second accessory device. At least a portion of the recess may be positioned between the mounting groove and the rear surface of the rail.
Smart headgear
In one embodiment of the invention, an apparatus for a smart helmet includes a camera, a communication subsystem, and a control subsystem. The control subsystem processes the video data from the camera and the communication subsystem transmits this video data from the smart helmet to a destination device.
Removable device for mounting accessories to a helmet
An apparatus includes a mounting component with an opposed exterior surface configured to adapt to a curvature of a helmet via an attachment portion and angularly defined guide rails and friction slots. A cradle includes an exterior portion configured to receive an accessory and friction receiving coupler to integrate said cradle to said mounting component whereby cradle will travel non-linearly along the angularly defined guiderails of the mounting component. Friction inducing elements increase friction between the mounting component and the cradle where the friction is induced by mechanical elements, where the mechanical elements are adjustable by hand power.
