Protective headgear with display and methods for use therewith
10434396 · 2019-10-08 ·

Protective headgear includes, for example, a headgear body that is wearable on a head of a baseball umpire. At least one sensor is configured to generate imaging data that includes a batter in proximity to home plate. A processor analyzes the imaging data to determine a strike zone of the batter and to generate augmented reality data in response thereto. A display device generates a heads up display of the strike zone that is viewable to the baseball umpire during a pitch to the batter, based on the augmented reality data. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Bicycle helmet

A bicycle helmet includes a body, a plurality of air inlets and a plurality of air outlets. The body includes a front portion, an upper portion, a rear portion and an inner portion. The upper portion includes a closed surface. A plurality of dimple structures are formed on the closed surface to produce an aerodynamic effect. The air inlets are formed on the front portion. The air outlets are formed on the rear portion. The inner portion includes a plurality of ribs, the ribs are positioned correspondingly to the air inlet and the air outlet and define air channels therein, an airflow flows through the body due to the airflow entering the body through the air inlets, passing through the air channels and exiting the body through the air outlets.

Interchangeable optics for a head-mounted display

A head-mounted display that is modular and configured for securement to an item of headwear is provided. The head-mounted display may comprise a selection of components that are desired for a particular application, such as a display boom, camera, microphone, position-tracking component, etc., and may include an attachment mechanism for securing the selection of components to the item of headwear. The head-mounted display may include a display module having a corresponding display characteristic that provides a visual display and/or display functionality that is appropriate for a particular application. The display module may include a micro display that is non-transparent and/or a waveguide optic that is at least partially transparent, and may be configured to provide an augmented reality display for a user.

METHODS AND DEVICES TO REDUCE DAMAGING EFFECTS OF CONCUSSIVE OR BLAST FORCES ON A SUBJECT

The disclosure provides systems, devices, and associated methods for mitigating traumatic brain injury, injury to an ocular structure, or injury to the inner ear of a subject by applying pressure to one or more neck veins before and during an injurious event.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REAL-TIME CONCUSSION DIAGNOSIS BY ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAM ACTIVITY MONITORING

Systems and methods for detecting concussions in real-time are provided. An exemplary system of detecting concussions in real time includes an accelerometer to measure acceleration event and generate an accelerometry signal. The system includes a plurality of electrodes to detect an electroencephalogram (EEG) and each of the electrodes can be attached to a top region of the headgear through a flexible shaft. The system further includes a signal processing circuit to amplify, filter and broadcast an electroencephalogram (EEG) signal to a local wireless receiving unit.

OUTPUT APPARATUS

An output apparatus includes: an identifying unit that identifies a direction in which an occupant of a first vehicle is looking; a receiving unit that receives, from a second vehicle positioned in the direction identified by the identifying unit, information indicating whether or not the first vehicle is recognized by the second vehicle; and an output unit that outputs alert information to at least one alerting device among alerting devices attached to the first vehicle and the occupant of the first vehicle if the first vehicle is not recognized by the second vehicle.

METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR WEARABLE TEXTILE ELECTRONIC DEVICES
20190297960 · 2019-10-03 ·

In one aspect, the disclosure relates to methods for on-demand ink deposition processes for printing conductive inks on textiles. The disclosed methods can be used to fabricate various disclosed wearable textile electronic devices comprising a textile product, such as a textile garment, and one or more electronic component such as a vertical interconnect access device, resistive printed heater, and a meshed-patch antenna. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.

Protective head gear with moveable members

Disclosed are devices, systems, methods, products, and implementations, including a head gear device that includes a helmet adapted to be worn by a user, at least one sensor to measure one or more of, for example, force and/or motion, and one or more moveable members, the one or more moveable members configured to be displaced to apply a counterforce to a head of the user based, at least in part, on detection of one or more of, for example, a force component applied to the user and/or motion undergone by the user.

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20190293943 · 2019-09-26 ·

Example systems and methods are described that help increase the situational awareness of a user of a helmet, such as a motorcycle helmet. One or more cameras are physically coupled to the helmet, where each camera includes a lens and an associated image sensor. Each camera is configured to generate a video feed, which is presented to a user on a display. The video feed represents a field-of-view around the helmet, and may be projected onto a surface, such as the visor of the helmet, thereby enabling enhanced situational awareness for the user of the helmet.
