Apparatus for securing and positioning the end of a hydration tube near a mouth
An apparatus for positioning an output end of a hydration tube near a region of a user's mouth includes an arm and a mounting mechanism. The arm is formable to extend in a generally vertical direction along a side of the user's head or neck and in a generally horizontal direction toward the user's mouth. The arm includes a side region and a front region coupled to the side region. The front region is configured to have a portion of the hydration tube including the output end attached thereto and subsequently detached therefrom without affecting the structural integrity of the front region or the hydration tube. The mounting mechanism is associated with the arm and is configured to attach the arm to a body gear configured to be worn near the user's head or neck, and subsequently detach the arm from the body gear without affecting the structural integrity of the arm and the body gear.
OCULAR-PERFORMANCE-BASED HEAD IMPACT MEASUREMENT USING A FACEGUARD
A system or method for measuring human ocular performance can be implemented using an eye sensor, a head orientation sensor, and an electronic circuit. The device is configured for measuring vestibulo-ocular reflex, pupillometry, saccades, visual pursuit tracking, vergence, eyelid closure, dynamic visual acuity, retinal image stability, foveal fixation stability, focused position of the eyes or visual fixation of the eyes at any given moment and nystagmus. The eye sensor comprises a video camera that senses vertical movement and horizontal movement of at least one eye. The head orientation sensor senses pitch and yaw in the range of frequencies between 0.01 Hertz and 15 Hertz. The system is implemented as part of a faceguard.
MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT ALERT SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Motorcycle alert systems include a motorcycle, an article of clothing, such as a motorcycle jacket, a helmet, gloves, pants, or other like article of clothing, and a wired or wireless tether connecting the motorcycle to the article of clothing, such that when the motorcycle is in an accident, a signal is sent to the article of clothing, having visual and/or audible signals thereon, causing the article of clothing to visually or audibly alert another as to the location and presence of the motorcyclist wearing the article of clothing. Methods of using the same are further provided
Retractable displays for helmets
The present invention relates to a helmet that includes an outer shell, a heads-up information system that comprises a display, and an attachment assembly. The heads-up information system is movable from a storage position within the outer shell to a use position in which the display of the heads-up information system is visible by a user, without obstructing the field of vision of the user, when the helmet is worn by the user. The attachment assembly is coupled to outer shell and the heads-up information system, and is operable to move the heads-up information system between the storage position and the use position.
Attachment system
Attachment systems for releasably securing an accessory to an article, such as a helmet, are disclosed. In one embodiment, an attachment system includes an attachment plate that includes engaging features which engage corresponding engagement features on an attachment base. At least one of the engaging features on the attachment plate is associated with a flexible member, and is movable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration via deformation of the flexible member. A pair of grips are provided on opposing ends of the flexible member, and the grips are pressed toward one another to move the movable engaging feature between the locked and unlocked configurations.
