HEADGEAR SHROUD ASSEMBLY
A shroud assembly for headgear includes a frame having a first side configured to face toward an exterior surface of the headgear and a second side opposite the first side and configured to face away from the headgear, the first side having a shape that matches a contour of the headgear. An insert separately formed from the frame is removably attached to the first side of the frame, the insert configured for removable attachment to a mounting assembly. The frame includes first and second spaced apart walls disposed on the front side of the frame on opposite sides of the insert, the first and second walls spaced a sufficient distance apart to provide an interference fit between the mounting assembly and the first and second spaced apart walls.

Auto-darkening welding helmet
An auto-darkening welding helmet comprises a helmet casing; an auto-darkening filter installed in the helmet casing; and a lighting device installed in the helmet casing, wherein the auto-darkening filter includes a liquid crystal panel which is switchable between a non-opaque state and an opaque state, wherein the lighting device comprises a cable connectable to the auto-darkening filter such that when the liquid crystal panel is in the non-opaque state the lighting device automatically emits light towards a front of the liquid crystal panel and when the liquid crystal panel is in the opaque state the lighting device does not automatically emit light.
Brim Shade and Hinge
A brim shade has a shade element, a clip, and a hinge that joins the shade element and the clip to make the brim shade. The shade element and the hinge combine to create a shade that does not allow the light to get past the brim shade. The brim shade can be adjusted through 360 degree rotation and along the side of a hat to provide protection to the wearer.

Helmet mount for stowage and adjustment of HMD
A helmet mounting for optical combiner (50) for a HMD has a pivoted mounting arm (60) for the optical combiner to be movable between an operational position in a line of sight, and a retracted position displaced out of the line of sight. A translation mechanism (100) provides translation of the optical combiner along the line of sight. A driving lever (30) causes the displacement of the mounting arm between the line of sight and the retracted position, and with a second motion of the lever, causes the translation of the optical combiner. By having the same lever coupled to both the mounting arm and the translation mechanism, the relatively complex combination of displacement and translation movements of the optical combiner can be reduced to a simpler movement, easier for a user such as a pilot to use even when under stress in a busy and cramped cockpit environment.
Helmet and information carrier
A helmet including a protective head covering, information carrier, adhesive, and flap. The information carrier includes a first panel having a terminal edge, and a second panel having a fold line. The second panel is joined to the first panel to define a pouch having an interior space and an opening to the interior space. The opening is defined by the terminal edge disposed proximately to the first panel below the fold line. The adhesive is configured to affix the first panel to the exterior surface. The flap is pivotally attached to the second panel about the fold line, wherein the second panel is bendable away from the exterior surface at least between the terminal edge and the fold line to enable the flap to pivot about the fold line toward the exterior surface in connection with insertion of the flap into and removal of the flap from the opening.
Attachment system
Attachment systems for releasably securing an accessory to an article, such as a helmet, are disclosed. In one embodiment, an attachment system (100) includes an attachment plate (102) that includes engaging features (108, 110) which engage corresponding engagement features on an attachment base (104). At least one of the engaging features (110) on the attachment plate is associated with a flexible member (112), and is movable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration via deformation of the flexible member. A pair of grips (114) are provided on opposing ends of the flexible member, and the grips are pressed toward one another to move the movable engaging feature between the locked and unlocked configurations.
