ACCESSORY MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR A HELMET
20220264985 · 2022-08-25 ·

A helmet mount includes a latching plate defining a latching opening with wide and narrow portions and a notch. A latching spring below the latching plate urges a spring portion against the wide portion. The shaft of a first pin on an accessory mount is sized to fit in the narrow portion while its widened head only fits through the wide portion. The spring portion engages the widened head and prevents sliding within the narrow portion. The shaft of a second pin slides within the notch with its widened head preventing removal. A wedge may be slid against the spring to retract the spring portion allowing removal of the first pin. Electrical contacts on the helmet mount may engage electrical contents on the accessory mount to supply power to an accessory such as night-vision goggles.

HELMET LIGHTING SYSTEM
20220279888 · 2022-09-08 ·

A helmet including a lighting system integrated into said helmet, the lighting system comprising a first layer; light emitting means mounted to said first layer; controller means mounted to said first layer for controlling said light emitting means; wiring means for linking said light emitting means to said controller means; a second layer fixably attached to said first layer thereby providing an area between said first and second layer for said light emitting means, controller means, and wiring means; power means fixably attached to said second layer for powering said controller and light emitting means; and operating means functionally linked to said controller means for operating said controller means. The application also discloses lighting system contained in a shell that that can be attached to an existing helmet. This application also discloses a lighting system contained in a flexible material that can be fitted onto an existing helmet.

Modular helmet system

A helmet mounting system for attaching an accessory device to a helmet includes one or more cables with a hook for removably engaging the brim of the helmet. Each cable has an end attached to a spool which is rotatable in a first direction for winding of the cable(s) around the spool and a second direction for unwinding the cable. A tensioning mechanism is coupled to the spool. In certain embodiments, one or more accessory devices are electrically coupled to a power and data management module for routing power, data and control signals to the one or more accessory devices. Accessory devices are interchangeable, providing a modular system that can be customized to meet mission requirements and accessory devices are removable and replaceable as mission requirements change.

HELMET WITH DIGITAL VISOR
20220269122 · 2022-08-25 ·

A helmet and a method and system for controlling a digital visor of a helmet are disclosed herein. The helmet includes a visor screen having a plurality of liquid crystal display (LCD) pixels, with each LCD pixel configured to alter in transparency. The helmet also includes a light sensor configured to detect incident light. The helmet also includes a controller coupled to the visor screen and the light sensor. The controller is configured to alter the transparency of the plurality of LCD pixels based on the incident light. In embodiments, the controller can alter the transparency of the LCD pixels based on the direction and/or intensity of the incident light.

Single Actuation Goggle Positioning Mounting Assembly

A mounting device having a mounting assembly for mounting a pair of goggles to a helmet is provided. The mounting assembly is configured to provide at least three degrees of freedom of movement using one or more actuation mechanisms for locking and unlocking a position of the mounting device. The number of actuation mechanisms is less than a number of degrees of freedom. In some aspects, the number of actuation mechanisms is one. A rotation base connects the mounting assembly to the helmet, and a goggle linkage connects the mounting assembly to the goggles. Various single actuation mechanisms, including a sliding mechanism, a friction-based wire/brake mechanism, and a floating friction brake mechanism, are provided.

Systems and Methods for An Intelligent Motorcycle Helmet
20220151328 · 2022-05-19 ·

An intelligent motorcycle helmet system includes a helmet assembly and a first control module incorporated into the helmet assembly and communicatively coupled to a set of helmet-mounted lighting components. A haptic feedback module is incorporated into the helmet assembly. A second control module is configured to be removably mounted to a motorcycle. The first control module selectively activates the helmet-mounted lighting components to reflect the state of the left and right turn signals and the brake light of the motorcycle as determined via the second control module and the lighting state sensing module. The first control module selectively actuates the haptic feedback module during operation of the motorcycle in response to at least one event associated with the motorcycle.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING A PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETER OF PERSONS ENGAGED IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The present disclosure provides system and method for monitoring of at least one physiological parameter of a person engaged in a physical activity, for example, an impact received by a player engaged in a contact sport such as football. The system includes a monitoring unit that actively monitors the physiological parameter of the person, wherein the monitoring unit generates an alert event when the monitored physiological parameter exceeds a threshold of the parameter. The monitoring unit determines whether the parameter exceeds an over-exposure threshold, wherein said threshold is based upon both a single incidence or cumulative incidences.
