Synchronized safety lighting
11103022 · 2021-08-31 · ·

Under poor lighting conditions, it is difficult to distinguish whether multiple lights are attached to the same object or multiple objects, particularly when they are flashing. In some circumstances, lights flashing at different frequencies and/or with different periods may be presumed by other road users to be associated with different objects, thereby diminishing the value of multiple individual lights on a bicycle. Synchronized safety lighting enables a cyclist to synchronize multiple individual lights so that they may flash in unison with the same repeating pattern. This provides a stronger visual impression of a cyclist and their bicycle to other road users by visually tying the cyclist's lights together.

A Protective Apparel System with a Lens Assembly
20210259347 · 2021-08-26 · ·

A protective apparel system for use with a surgical helmet having a headlamp and including a protective apparel apparatus comprising a surgical garment, wherein the garment defines a sterile barrier between the wearer and the environment. The system includes a lens assembly adjacent to the surgical garment on the environment side and configured to cooperate with a coupling member for use with the headlamp. The lens assembly may include a control member and a lens, wherein the control member is be manipulatable by a wearer. The control member may be configured wherein manipulation by the wearer may reposition the lens of the lens assembly to adjust the direction and/or intensity of the light from the headlamp without breaching the sterile barrier.

The binocular bridge system is configured to couple two night vision monoculars together, effectively providing the user with a binocular night vision system. An example binocular bridge system comprises a bridge, two hinged arms, and two dummy battery inserts. Each dummy battery insert is configured to be positioned within the battery compartment of a night vision monocular and conductively connect it to a power source housed within the bridge. In some implementation, each hinged arm of the binocular bridge system includes an objective alignment ring. The hinged arms of such a binocular bridge system, in conjunction with the objective alignment rings, are configured to mechanically collimate the night vision monoculars secured thereto.

IMPORTING AND ANALYZING EXTERNAL DATA USING A VIRTUAL REALITY WELDING SYSTEM

A real-time virtual reality welding system including a programmable processor-based subsystem, a spatial tracker operatively connected to the programmable processor-based subsystem, at least one mock welding tool capable of being spatially tracked by the spatial tracker, and at least one display device operatively connected to the programmable processor-based subsystem. The system is capable of simulating, in virtual reality space, a weld puddle having real-time molten metal fluidity and heat dissipation characteristics. The system is further capable of importing data into the virtual reality welding system and analyzing the data to characterize a student welder's progress and to provide training.

Athletic collar

A device includes a collar and at least one pad. The collar is configured for wearing by a user, the collar having a plurality of pad receptacles. The at least one pad is configured for coupling with a selected one of the plurality of pad receptacles, the pad having an elastic portion configured to limit movement of a user.

HELMET WEARING DETERMINATION METHOD, HELMET WEARING DETERMINATION SYSTEM, HELMET WEARING DETERMINATION APPARATUS, AND PROGRAM
20210232835 · 2021-07-29 · ·

The present invention is directed to a helmet wearing determination system including a imaging means that is installed in a predetermined position and images a two-wheel vehicle that travels on a road; and a helmet wearing determination means that processes an image imaged by the imaging means, estimates a rider head region corresponding to a head of a person who rides on the two-wheel vehicle that travels on the road, compares image characteristics of the rider head region with image characteristics according to the head at a time when a helmet is worn or/and at a time when a helmet is not worn, and determines whether or not the rider wears the helmet.

Wearable device for reducing blood loss
11051565 · 2021-07-06 · ·

The invention features methods and devices for controlling bleeding from blood vessels that may be damaged as a result of trauma or impact with an object, such as a bullet or shrapnel. The device may be wearable by a user and include one or more components, such as wound sealant and multiple inflatable balloons/bladders. The device may be integrated into a garment, e.g., a vest, jacket, trousers, or full body suit. Once triggered (automatically or manually), the device may be used to deliver wound sealant to a wound site and/or pressure to the wound site by selective inflation of one or more balloons over exsanguinating blood vessels that may be damaged, thereby stopping or minimizing the bleeding. Alternatively, or in addition, the device may be used to stabilize a wounded wearer for, e.g., transportation purposes, or to provide buoyancy. Devices of the invention may also be used as a blood pressure monitor, as a massaging device, and as a breast pump. Devices and methods of the invention may also be used for repairing or stabilizing machines, such as vehicles (e.g., automobiles and boats).
