A helmet for communicating with a vehicle function controller and method for operating the same has a first memory, a first transmitter, a first receiver and a first controller in communication with the first memory, the first transmitter and the first receiver. The first receiver receives a plurality of vehicle function settings. The first memory stores the vehicle function settings within a memory of the helmet. The first transmitter communicates the vehicle function settings from the first memory to the vehicle function controller.

A helmet system includes a helmet shell and a battery interface. The battery interface may be disposed on an exterior of a rear portion of the helmet shell. The battery interface may include a base, a mechanical latch feature, and a magnetic latch feature. The mechanical latch feature may be configured to interface with a complementary mechanical feature of the battery to contribute to a releasable maintenance of the battery within the battery receiving slot. The magnetic latch feature may be configured to interface, via a magnetic bias, with a complementary magnetic feature of the battery to contribute to the releasable maintenance of the battery within the battery receiving slot.

System, Method, and Apparatus for Detecting IR Radiation in a Marker System

A marker system includes an enclosure with a controller therewithin. Emitters are electrically interfaced to the controller and include visible wavelength emitters and infrared wavelength emitters. The controller is configured to selectively initiate a flow of electric current though the visible wavelength emitters or through the infrared wavelength emitters causing the visible wavelength emitters or the infrared wavelength emitters to emit light and the light passes through the enclosure. There is at least one infrared detector, each of which is electrically interfaced to the controller and each of which is configured to detect infrared light that enters the enclosure. When the controller receives an electrical signal from any of the at least one infrared detector indicating reception of infrared light, the controller emits a signal to warn of the reception of infrared light (e.g., an audible signal, a vibration, a wireless signal, a wired signal).
