A multi-threat protection composite containing at least 15 textile layers having an upper and lower surface and a non-blocking pressure sensitive adhesive (NonB-PSA) composition on at least the upper surface of each textile layer. The NonB-PSA coating contains a pressure sensitive adhesive and a plurality of first inorganic particles, wherein the ratio by weight of the first inorganic particles to the pressure sensitive adhesive is greater than about 1.2 and wherein the NonB-PSA coating is in an amount of at least about 10 g/m.sup.2 on each surface the NonB-PSA coating is located. The first inorganic particles have a median primary particle size of less than about 5 micrometers.

Helmet mounting system

Systems and methods for attaching an accessory to a helmet. A helmet accessory mounting interface may be attached to a receptacle. The receptacle may be removably or permanently received by a carrier. The carrier may be attached to a helmet having a particular shape and size. The carrier also may be configured to receive any selected type of a plurality of receptacle types which, in turn, corresponds to a particular mounting interface for a helmet accessory. The receptacle may be receivable, in some embodiments removably, by any one of a number of different types of carriers.

Systems and methods for attaching an accessory to a helmet. A helmet accessory mounting interface may be attached to a receptacle. The receptacle may be removably or permanently received by a carrier. The carrier may be attached to a helmet having a particular shape and size. The carrier also may be configured to receive any selected type of a plurality of receptacle types which, in turn, corresponds to a particular mounting interface for a helmet accessory. The receptacle may be receivable, in some embodiments removably, by any one of a number of different types of carriers.

Helmet with mechanism for cooling

A headgear for protecting a user from head injury includes a helmet and a cooling unit. The cooling unit is designed to be attachable to, and detachable from, the helmet by the user during normal use of the headgear. In an embodiment, the cooling unit includes one or more inlets, a fan for drawing in air into the cooling unit via the one or more inlets, a pad to hold moisture to cool the air drawn into the cooling unit to generate cooled air, and an air outlet to direct the cooled air into said helmet.

Mounting rail assembly

A mounting rail assembly comprises a rail configured to be coupled to a helmet. The rail may include a rear surface and a front surface with a mounting groove extending along a length of the front surface. The mounting groove may be open outwardly from a front surface of the rail and be configured to couple to a first accessory device at two or more positions along the length of the rail. A recess may be proximate an edge of the mounting rail assembly. The recess may be open generally perpendicular to the mounting groove and configured to receive a second accessory device. At least a portion of the recess may be positioned between the mounting groove and the rear surface of the rail.

An electronic motorcycle helmet. The electronic motorcycle helmet includes a helmet having an aperture therein that can receive a head therethrough. A visor is disposed on a front side of the helmet and a display is disposed on an interior surface of the visor. A microprocessor, including a logic that receives a command input directed to one of a plurality of subsystems, toggles the subsystem between an activated state and a deactivated state, and displays a status window on the display corresponding to the subsystem. The plurality of subsystems includes a plurality of cameras disposed about the helmet, wherein each of the cameras is operably connected to the display and can apply a low-light filter for low-light conditions. Other subsystems include a wireless transmitter to wirelessly communicate with an external device, a GPS system, and a battery disposed at a lower edge of the rear side.

A protective headgear (1) comprising: a protective helmet (20) that defines an interior space (31), that comprises an inward major surface, and that comprises a forward window with a windowpane (27); a head suspension that is connected to the helmet; and an air supply module (50) mounted at least partially within the interior space defined by the helmet, wherein the air supply module comprises central, right lateral, and left lateral trunks (53, 54, 55) that are configured so that when the module is mounted within the interior space defined by the helmet, selected central, left and right areas of the inward major surface of the helmet combine with the central, left lateral and right lateral trunks of the air supply module to respectively define a central air supply passage and left and right lateral air supply passages for delivering air to a wearer of the protective headgear, and, wherein the air supply module comprises an external, remote handle (70) that is remotely connected to an air valve that is operative to control a rate at which air is directed into the central air supply passage in comparison to a rate at which air is directed into the left and right lateral air supply passages.

The Concussion Reduction Prevention System is a protective helmet and shoulder pad device that may be worn by an athlete, such as a football player, during sports play to reduce the likelihood that the athlete will obtain a concussion. The helmet is large enough to allow the athlete's head to move freely within it. The helmet connects to the pad via a cradle. The cradle includes attachment points along the athlete's shoulders so that impact forces are distributed onto the athlete's shoulders. The pad is reinforced to distribute impact forces from the helmet to the athlete's shoulders.

A medical garment for use with a helmet, wherein the garment comprises a shell and a transparent face shield configured to define a barrier between the wearer and the environment. The transparent face shield may comprise a tab configured to be at least partially disposed within an alignment channel of the helmet when the medical garment is attached to the helmet to orient the shell relative to the helmet. The tab may also be separate from the transparent face shield and disposed on the shell of the medical garment. The transparent face shield may also comprise an attachment element configured to removably couple with a coupling member of the helmet, wherein the attachment element and coupling member comprise complementary coupling surfaces.
