Embodiments of apparatuses and methods for providing negative pressure wound therapy to multiple wounds are disclosed. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a negative pressure source configured to couple via a plurality of fluid flow paths to a plurality of wound dressings. The plurality of flow paths includes a plurality of calibrated leaks. The apparatus also includes a controller configured to determine a total rate of flow in the plurality of fluid flow paths and compare the total rate of flow to a plurality of thresholds associated with the plurality of calibrated leaks to determine one or more operating conditions, such as a blockage in one or more of the plurality of flow paths. An indication of the operating condition can be provided.

A dressing system for cooling skin or a wound site on a subject comprises a dressing having a reservoir for holding a liquid. The dressing may be configured for placement proximate to a postoperative surgical wound site of the subject or on the facial area of the subject. The dressing system includes a cooling chamber external to the dressing configured to cool the liquid. The dressing system includes a pump configured to circulate the liquid between the cooling chamber and the reservoir. The dressing system may include a suction element for applying suction at, or proximate to, the dressing for removing sweat or wound drainage.

A curable composition for use in wound care comprising, apportioned between at least one Part A and at least one Part B: one or more alkenyl-group containing polymers (i) having at least one alkenyl group or moiety per molecule, one or more SiH-containing polymers (ii) having at least one Si—H unit per molecule; and a catalyst (iii) for curing by addition of alkenyl-containing polymer (i) to SiH-containing polymer (ii), Part A and Part B independently having viscosity at 23° C. in the range 5-300 Pa.Math.s, preferably 10-100 Pa.Math.s, at a shearing rate of 10 s.sup.−1, and when combined in one Part having cure time at 23° C. in the range from 0.5 min to 25 min, wherein when dispensed into a location about a wound dressing, said wound dressing overlying a wound site and skin thereabout, said dispensing being so as to intimately contact and overlie an edge of said dressing and skin about said edge, the composition cures in contact with said edge and skin at 32° C. to an elastomer exhibiting zero or low tack at a time in the range from 0.5 to less than 30 minutes, apparatus for use with said composition comprising dispensing apparatus or wound dressing, a kit comprising the same, and methods of dispensing and curing the same and of using the same in sealing a wound dressing and in treating a wound site of a human in need thereof.

Adaptable wound drainage system

Provided are drainage systems that may include a drainage manifold and may be suitable for draining fluid from a tissue site. The drainage manifold may include a plurality of elongate members having a moveable end that may be adapted to configure the drainage manifold to treat a uniquely shaped tissue site. The drainage manifold may be coupled to a drainage tube with a transitional connector to provide a drainage system capable of distributing reduced pressure to the tissue site to enhance the drainage of fluids.

Systems and methods for treating a plurality of tissue sites include a multi-port therapy unit. The multi-port therapy unit includes a plurality of patient-side ports each fluidly coupled to a plurality of conduits and a fluid reservoir fluidly coupled to the plurality of ports. A plurality of pressure sensors are associated with the plurality of patient-side ports to determining a pressure associated with each conduit. A controller is operatively coupled to the plurality of pressure sensors to receive treatment pressure data, monitor pressure for each pressure sensor of the plurality of pressure sensors, and signal an alarm condition if the pressure is outside of a pre-selected range. The system includes a reduced-pressure source fluidly coupled to a dressing at each tissue site through the multi-port therapy unit.

The present disclosure relates to a connector device for a negative pressure wound therapy system having a connector housing, a fluid outlet connected to the connector housing, an air feeding port and an air filter and coupling means. The fluid outlet is adapted to be connected to a negative pressure source. The connector device is adapted to be engaged with a wound side connector of a wound side assembly by means of the coupling means. The wound side assembly includes a fluid removing conduit and an air supplying conduit, wherein a portion of each one of the fluid removing conduit and the air supplying conduit is connected to the wound side connector. The connector device when engaged with the wound side connector, the fluid removing conduit is fluidly connected to the fluid outlet and the air supplying conduit is fluidly connected to the air feeding port such that air ambient of the connector device can be fed to the air supplying conduit via the air feeding port and the air filter.

The wound therapy apparatus may include a dressing engaged with the wound interface to contact the wound bed. A spacer may be disposed within the enclosed space proximal of the dressing to define a plenum between portions of the wound interface and a proximal side of the dressing. Gas within the enclosed space may have an O.sub.2 concentration greater than the O.sub.2 concentration in atmospheric air. The dressing may include a hydrophobic material, a hydrophilic material, or a distal layer comprised of silicone having fenestrations therein, in various aspects. The pressure p.sub.0 within the enclosed space may vary over a pressure range P.sub.min≤P.sub.0≤P.sub.max. Related methods of use are also disclosed.

Negative pressure treatment including mechanical and chemical pump

A negative pressure assembly includes a drape, a sealing element, a reactor, and a mechanical pump assembly. The drape covers a dressing site on a patient and seals against the skin upon application of a vacuum while maintaining a negative pressure underneath the drape. When applied to the skin, the sealing element cooperates with the drape to define an enclosed volume covered by the drape and surrounded by the sealing element. The reactor is located with respect to the drape and the sealing element to be in fluid communication with the enclosed volume when the drape is covering the dressing site and is configured to react with and consume a selected gas found in air. The mechanical pump assembly is connectable to the enclosed volume and has a pump chamber in fluid communication with the enclosed volume to draw air from the enclosed volume into the pump chamber.

For example, the dressing may comprise a viewing window extending through the manifold. In some embodiments, the viewing window may be configured to provide lateral strain and/or apposition forces on the tissue site during therapy. In some embodiments, the manifold may comprise two horizontally-spaced strips of foam with a gap therebetween, and a transparent separator film may span the gap.
