Fluoropolymer insulated communications cable

A communications cable is provided that includes a pair of twisted pair of wires, each coated with a fluoropolymer insulator. The twisted pair of wires is configured to carry a differential signal, such as a differential data signal and/or a differential power signal. The fluoropolymers are highly effective insulators and significantly reduce both the effects of internal and external electromagnetic interference while maintaining low cable attenuation, even when operating within a temperature range of −40° C. to 150° C.

Provided are an insulated electric wire including an insulating coating made of a resin composition with high wear resistance, and a wire harness including the insulated electric wire. An insulated electric wire 10 includes an electric wire conductor 12, and an insulating coating 14 that coats the outer circumferential surface of the electric wire conductor 12, wherein the insulating coating 14 is made of a resin composition containing a thermoplastic polyester elastomer as a main component. Furthermore, a wire harness includes the insulated electric wire 10. The thickness of the insulating coating 14 is preferably less than 0.7 mm.

LOW-SMOKE SELF-EXTINGUISHING ELECTRICAL CABLE AND FLAME-RETARDANT COMPOSITION USED THEREIN

A thermoplastic composition made from or containing (i) a polyolefin portion made from or containing (a) an ethylene/alkyl acrylate, (b) a polyolefin elastomer selected from copolymers of ethylene with a C.sub.3-C.sub.15 alpha-olefin, and optionally with a diene, having a density of from 0.860 to g/cm.sup.3, (c) an ethylene polymer grafted with carboxyl groups or organic silane groups, and optionally (d) a copolymer of ethylene with a C.sub.4-C.sub.10 alpha-olefin, having a density of from 0.910 to g/cm.sup.3, and (ii) a mineral portion made from or containing (e) magnesium hydroxide, wherein the components (a)-(e) being present in amount such that the weight ratio (e)/polyolefin portion ranges from 0.8:1 to 1.75:1, the weight ratio (a)/(b) ranges from 0.75:1 to 1.25:1, and the weight ratio (a)/(e) ranges from 0.15:1 to 0.4:1; and wherein the thermoplastic composition has a melt flow rate of at least 2 g/10 min.

FLUORINE-CONTAINING THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION

The invention pertains to a thermoplastic vulcanizate fluorine-containing composition [vulcanizate (C)], comprising a continuous thermoplastic fluoropolymer phase and a dispersed vulcanized fluoroelastomer phase, said composition comprising: -at least one thermoplastic, fluoropolymer [polymer (F)], said polymer (F) comprising (j) from 40 to 60% by moles of recurring units derived from ethylene (E); (jj) from 60 to 40% by moles of recurring units derived from at least one of chlorotrilluoroethylene (CTFE) and tetrafluoroethylene (TFE); and (jjj) from 0.5 to 10% by moles of recurring units derived from of at least one (per)fluoroalkylvinylether of formula CX2CXOR.sub.f, wherein each of X, equal to or different from each other, is independently H or F (preferably F); and R.sub.f is a C.sub.1-C.sub.12 (per)fluoroalkyl group or a C.sub.1-C.sub.12 (per)fluoro-oxy-alkyl group comprising one or more than one catenary oxygen atoms [monomer (V)], with % by moles being referred to the total moles of recurring units of the polymer (F); and -at least one (per)fluoroelastomer [elastomer (A)].

FLUORINE-CONTAINING THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION

The invention pertains to a thermoplastic vulcanizate fluorine-containing composition [vulcanizate (C)], comprising a continuous thermoplastic fluoropolymer phase and a dispersed vulcanized fluoroelastomer phase, said composition comprising: -at least one thermoplastic, fluoropolymer [polymer (F)], said polymer (F) comprising (j) from 40 to 60% by moles of recurring units derived from ethylene (E); (jj) from 60 to 40% by moles of recurring units derived from at least one of chlorotrilluoroethylene (CTFE) and tetrafluoroethylene (TFE); and (jjj) from 0.5 to 10% by moles of recurring units derived from of at least one (per)fluoroalkylvinylether of formula CX2CXOR.sub.f, wherein each of X, equal to or different from each other, is independently H or F (preferably F); and R.sub.f is a C.sub.1-C.sub.12 (per)fluoroalkyl group or a C.sub.1-C.sub.12 (per)fluoro-oxy-alkyl group comprising one or more than one catenary oxygen atoms [monomer (V)], with % by moles being referred to the total moles of recurring units of the polymer (F); and -at least one (per)fluoroelastomer [elastomer (A)].

CABLE AND MEDICAL HOLLOW TUBE

A cable includes a sheath, and a coating film covering a circumference of the sheath, the coating film adhering to the sheath. The coating film is formed from a rubber composition including a rubber component and fine particles. A static friction coefficient on a surface of the coating film is 0.5 or less. When the coating film is subjected to a testing such that a long fiber non-woven fabric including cotton linters including an alcohol for disinfection with a length of 50 mm along a wiping direction is brought contiguous to the surface of the coating film at a shearing stress of 210.sup.3 MPa to 410.sup.3 MPa, followed by wiping off the surface of the coating film at a speed of 80 times/min to 120 times/min and 20,000 repetitions thereof for a wiping direction length of 150 mm, a difference (an absolute value of a difference) between the static friction coefficients of the coating film before and after the testing is not greater than 0.1.

A cable includes a sheath, and a coating film covering a circumference of the sheath, the coating film adhering to the sheath. The coating film is formed from a rubber composition including a rubber component and fine particles. A static friction coefficient on a surface of the coating film is 0.5 or less. When the coating film is subjected to a testing such that a long fiber non-woven fabric including cotton linters including an alcohol for disinfection with a length of 50 mm along a wiping direction is brought contiguous to the surface of the coating film at a shearing stress of 210.sup.3 MPa to 410.sup.3 MPa, followed by wiping off the surface of the coating film at a speed of 80 times/min to 120 times/min and 20,000 repetitions thereof for a wiping direction length of 150 mm, a difference (an absolute value of a difference) between the static friction coefficients of the coating film before and after the testing is not greater than 0.1.

Halogen free and fire-resistant rubber composition and hose

A halogen-free, fire resistant rubber composition for a fire resistant hose includes: 100 parts by weight of elastomer having a blend of: 60 to 70 parts of ethylene vinylacetate elastomer (EVM), a vinylacetate content of EVM being in the range from 60 to 70% by weight; 40 to 30 parts of terpolymer of ethylene, propylene, and a diene elastomer (EPDM), an ethylene content of EPDM being in the range from 30 to 40% by weight and a propylene content of EPDM being from 60 to 70% by weight; at least one fire retardant ingredient; and at least one vulcanizing agent. The vulcanizing agent is a peroxide curative.
