An apparatus for de-braiding a braided shield of a wire. The apparatus comprises a brush assembly having a first bristle wheel mounted on a first axis and a second bristle wheel mounted on a second axis wherein the first bristle wheel and the second bristle wheel are positioned with respect to one another to have their respective bristles brush against a braided shield of a wire placed between the first and second bristle wheels; a wheel drive motor; a first flexible drive shaft connecting the wheel drive motor to the first axis to rotate the first bristle wheel; a second flexible drive shaft connecting the first axis to the second axis to rotate the second bristle wheel; and a drive assembly, wherein the drive assembly moves the brush assembly both axially and rotationally with respect to a wire placed between the first bristle wheel and the second bristle wheel.

Braided cable and method of identifying braided bundle in braided cable

A cable, which can serve as a mounting device for sensors, includes strands to be connected to the sensors. The strands are formed as a braided wire bundle. An insulating layer is provided on a surface of each of the strands in order to prevent mutual electric conduction of the strands. A particular braided bundle can be specified from among many braided bundles by using, as two indicators, a combination of colors of the insulating layers and a twist direction of the braided bundle.

Cable Substitute for Mineral-Insulated Cables in Nuclear Facilities

An electrical cable for use as a substitute for mineral-insulated cables in nuclear facilities is described herein. The cable may include at least one conductor, insulation, a jacket, and an armor shell. In some embodiments, the conductor may comprise a stranded conductor of one of various grades. The insulation may comprise phlogopite or muscovite mica tape that may be helically or longitudinally applied in overlapping concentric layers around at least one conductor. The jacket may comprise a woven glass braid applied over insulation surrounding one or multiple conductors. The armor may comprise hermitically sealed metallic armor applied around the other components of the cable, thereby forming an exterior of the cable. The inorganic materials utilized may be configured to limit the creation of adverse and/or undesirable elements instigated by transmutation from neutron irradiation exposure.

Strands to be connected to sensors are formed as a braided wire, an insulating layer is provided on a surface of each of the strands in order to prevent mutual electric conduction of the strands, and a particular braided bundle can be specified from among many braided bundles using a combination of colors of the insulating layers and a twist direction of the braided bundle that constitutes the braided wire as two indicators, whereby a cable having a sufficiently small diameter and excellent flexibility even when many sensors are mounted thereon is provided.

Cable with braided shield

A cable with braided shield includes a conductor, an insulation layer arranged to cover a periphery of the conductor, a braided shield layer arranged to cover a periphery of the insulation layer, and a sheath arranged to cover a periphery of the braided shield layer. The braided shield layer includes a braided shield braided to cross a copper tinsel wire and a metal wire. An outer diameter D1 of the copper tinsel wire is larger than an outer diameter D2 of the metal wire.

INSULATION COVERED CONDUCTIVE WIRE

The insulation covered conductive wire includes a conductive wire, a non-adherent, laterally wound insulation member and a non-adherent braided insulation member. The non-adherent, laterally wound insulation member covers an outer circumference of the conductive wire without adhering thereto and is formed by laterally winding a plurality of first ceramic fibers constituted from a plurality of first ceramic strands in an extending direction of the conductive wire. The first ceramic strands are not in contact with each other and do not adhere to each other. The non-adherent braided insulation member covers an outer circumference of the non-adherent, laterally wound insulation member without adhering thereto and is formed by braiding a plurality of second ceramic fibers constituted from a plurality of second ceramic strands. The second ceramic fibers are not in contact with each other and do not adhere to each other.
