A cable comprises a protective jacket and a plurality of conductor bundles symmetrically arranged within the protective jacket. The cable comprises optical fibers arranged within the protective jacket relative to the plurality of conductor bundles such that an orthogonal mode electrical field symmetry for the plurality of conductor bundles is retained.
Electrical cable for vertical applications
An electrical cable for vertical applications includes a core having a length L, a sheath surrounding the core and extending through the whole length L and a reinforcing jacket surrounding the sheath and in direct contact therewith. The reinforcing jacket is made of concentric layers including a first layer longitudinally extending from a first cable end (the proximal or upper cable end, in use) towards a second cable end (the distal or lower cable end, in use) substantially along the whole length L. The reinforcing jacket also includes at least one further layer longitudinally extending from the first cable end towards the second cable end for a length shorter than L. At least one layer of the reinforcing jacket is a circumferentially closed metal tube.
CABLES FOR CABLE DEPLOYED ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS
Various cables for cable deployed electric submersible pumping systems and methods of manufacturing such cables are provided. The cable includes a power cable core and coiled tubing formed around the power cable core. The power cable core includes one or more conductors, insulation surrounding each conductor, and an elastomeric jacket extruded around the insulated conductors. Various mechanisms, systems, and methods are described to anchor the power cable core in the coiled tubing and to transfer weight from the power cable core to the coiled tubing.
Torque-balanced, gas-sealed wireline cables
A smooth torque balanced cable that includes an electrically conductive cable core for transmitting electrical power. The smooth torque balanced cable also has a first polymer surrounding said cable core. An inner layer of a plurality of first armor wires surrounds the cable core. The first armor wires being in partial contact with the first polymer and partial contact with a second polymer disposed opposite the first polymer.
High pressure electrical connector cable for oil and gas applications
Downhole connection assemblies include a connector to receive a conductor and pin at opposite ends. The connector includes a first electrical collet, a separate second electrical collet and a sleeve. The first collet includes a first recess in a first end to receive the conductor and a second recess in a second end to receive the pin. The second collet is positioned around the pin and separated from the first collet. The sleeve is positioned around the pin, first collet and the second collet. Downhole cables include a center electrical conductor, a first insulator positioned around the center conductor, a second insulator positioned around the first insulator, and a pressure tube surrounding the second insulator. The cable further includes one or more slots extending axially along a length of the second insulator, or one or more slots extending axially along an inner diameter of the pressure tube.

An electric submersible pump (ESP) power cable. The ESP power cable comprises a first plurality of electric conductors encased in a first protective armor wherein a first void area is defined between the first plurality of electric conductors and the first protective armor, comprises a second plurality of electric conductors encased in a second protective armor wherein a second void area is defined between the second plurality of electric conductors and the second protective armor and wherein each one of the second plurality of electric conductors is spliced to a corresponding one of the first plurality of electric conductors, comprises a first filler positioned at least partially in the first void area, and comprises a second filler positioned at least partially in the second void area.
High pressure dual electrical collet assembly for oil and gas applications
Downhole connection assemblies include a connector to receive a conductor and pin at opposite ends. The connector includes a first electrical collet, a separate second electrical collet and a sleeve. The first collet includes a first recess in a first end to receive the conductor and a second recess in a second end to receive the pin. The second collet is positioned around the pin and separated from the first collet. The sleeve is positioned around the pin, first collet and the second collet. Downhole cables include a center electrical conductor, a first insulator positioned around the center conductor, a second insulator positioned around the first insulator, and a pressure tube surrounding the second insulator. The cable further includes one or more slots extending axially along a length of the second insulator, or one or more slots extending axially along an inner diameter of the pressure tube.
Capacitive Cable for a Downhole Electro-Hydraulic Tool
A capacitive cable, as well as a method for operating a downhole electro-hydraulic (EH) tool using the capacitive cable, are described herein. The capacitive cable includes at least one standard conductor and at least one capacitive conductor including integrated wire-shaped capacitors. The method includes inserting a tool string including the capacitive cable and an attached downhole EH tool into a wellbore and conducting power from the surface to the downhole EH tool via the standard conductor(s) of the capacitive cable. The method also includes storing electrical energy downhole within the capacitive conductor(s) of the capacitive cable, and activating the downhole EH tool to provide for the rapid release of the electrical energy from the capacitive conductor(s) into the downhole EH tool, initiating an electro-hydraulic event within the wellbore.
Hybrid cable with connecting device
A hybrid cable for collecting data inside a well includes an electrical cable extending along a longitudinal axis of the hybrid cable, an optical fiber extending along the longitudinal axis, an armor that extends along the longitudinal axis, and encircles the electrical cable and the optical fiber, and a connecting device extending along the longitudinal axis, to enclose the electrical cable and the optical fiber, and to be enclosed by the armor. The connecting device has an unsmooth external surface.
POWER CABLES FOR ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMP AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
A power cable (1) for an electric submersible pump (ESP) system, and systems and methods thereof are described herein. The power cable (12) is a weight-bearing three-phase power cable comprising a core (8) having an outer diameter and comprising three insulated conductors (2) substantially embedded in a polymeric bedding (3); and a multi-layered armor comprising an inner steel-based continuous tube (4) surrounding and in direct contact with the core (8), and an outer steel-based continuous tube (5) surrounding and in direct contact with the inner steel-based continuous tube (4). The inner steel-based continuous tube (4) and the outer steel-based continuous tube (5) are mechanical congruent with each other as a result of a roll reducing technique.
