METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ELECTRICAL CABLE, AND RESULTING PRODUCT, WITH REDUCED REQUIRED INSTALLATION PULLING FORCE
Disclosed are cable types, including a type THHN cable, the cable types having a reduced surface coefficient of friction, and the method of manufacture thereof, in which the central conductor core and insulating layer are surrounded by a material containing nylon or thermosetting resin. A silicone based pulling lubricant for said cable, or alternatively, erucamide or stearyl erucamide for small cable gauge wire, is incorporated, by alternate methods, with the resin material from which the outer sheath is extruded, and is effective to reduce the required pulling force between the formed cable and a conduit during installation.
MULTI-CORE CABLE
A multi-core cable includes a plurality of coaxial wires, each coaxial wire including a center conductor whose sectional area is 0.0005 mm.sup.2 to 0.0039 mm.sup.2. The multi-core cable includes a resin tape wrapped around the coaxial wires so that all of the plurality of coaxial wires are included therein, a shield layer being made of metal and covering the resin tape, and a sheath covering the shield layer and arranged at an outermost layer of the multi-core cable. The sheath is made of thermoplastic vulcanizate or tetrafluoroethylene-propylene-based fluorine containing rubber.
MULTICORE CABLE AND HARNESS
A multicore cable includes a plurality of sheathed wires, and a second cover layer covering an outer periphery of the plurality of sheathed wires, wherein the sheathed wire includes a conductor, and a first cover layer covering the conductor, the first cover layer is a crosslinked fluoroelastomer or a crosslinked fluororesin, and the second cover layer is a crosslinked fluoroelastomer.
Cable for down hole pump
A cable is provided for suspending a down hole pump that has a core with at least one tube for the transport of fluid and at least one conductor covered with an insulation layer made of a high temperature resistant insulating material. The core is covered by a steel tape and a first layer of steel wires are positioned radially outside the steel tape in contact with the steel tape. The wires of the first layer of steel wires are positioned side by side around the core with no filler in between the steel wires and an outer layer made of heat resistant polymer covers the steel wires.
Insulated wire and electric or electronic equipment
An insulated wire having a conductor, and a multilayer insulating layer composed of two or more layers coating the conductor, wherein the innermost insulating layer of the multilayer insulating layer is an insulating layer formed of a crystalline thermoplastic resin having a storage elastic modulus of 10 MPa or more at 300° C. and outer insulating layer(s) other than the innermost insulating layer include(s) an insulating layer formed of a crystalline thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 260° C. or higher and a storage elastic modulus of 1,000 MPa or more at 25° C., and adjacent insulating layers have a relationship such that the storage elastic modulus at 25° C. of the thermoplastic resin of the outer insulating layer is equal to or smaller than the inner insulating layer; and electric/electronic equipment formed using the insulated wire as a winding and/or lead wire of a transformer that is incorporated into the electric/electronic equipment.
Radiation crosslinked fluoropolymer compositions containing low level of extractable fluorides
A composition for manufacturing a crosslinked ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) copolymer with enhanced abrasion resistance and heat resistance is provided, the composition including ETFE, about 0.1-10% w/w of a metal oxide that effectively scavenges high levels of fluoride ions; and a crosslinking agent. Methods of using and making the composition are also provided.
Downhole cable
The present invention pertains to a cable comprising: —at least one conductor coated by an insulation coating layer, —a first protective layer surrounding said insulation coating layer, said first protective layer at least comprising, but preferably being made of a tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer comprising from 0.8% to 2.5% by weight of recurring units derived from at least one perfluorinated alkyl vinyl ether having formula (I) here below: CF.sub.2═CF—O—R.sub.f, wherein R.sub.f is a linear or branched C.sub.3-C.sub.5 perfluorinated alkyl group or a linear or branched C.sub.3-C.sub.12 perfluorinated alkyl group comprising one or more ether oxygen atoms, said TFE copolymer having a melt flow index comprised between 1.0 and 6.0 g/10 min, as measured according to ASTM D1238 at 372° C. under a load of 5 Kg [polymer (F)]; —optionally, a second protective layer surrounding said first protective layer, and —an armor shell surrounding said first or second protective layer. The invention also pertains to use of the cable in downhole wells.
Systems and methods for fireproofing cables and other structural members
According to some embodiments, a fireproofing system for protecting an elongate member, comprising at least one inner layer configured to at least partially wrap around itself to form an inner passage, the at least one inner layer configured to generally resist heat, and an outer shell or member defining an interior opening, wherein the first layer is configured to be positioned within the interior opening of the outer shell or outer member, wherein an elongate member is configured to pass through the inner passage.
Fire resistant data communication cable
Data communication cables include twisted wire pairs, a fire retardant tape, a metallized tape shield, a braided metallic shield, and a jacket layer. The fire retardant tape surrounds the twisted wire pairs has an overlap of about 15% to about 25%. The data communication cables are also halogen-free and may pass the fire retardant standards of National Fire Protection Agency (“NFPA”) 130.
