SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE OF WOUND THERAPY
A negative pressure wound therapy system can include a reduced pressure wound therapy device and a wound therapy monitoring device configured to emit an indication when it detects that at least one parameter associated with the provision of negative pressure wound therapy is outside an operational range. The wound therapy monitoring device can operate in a low power mode in which the at least one parameter is periodically monitored. The reduced pressure wound therapy device can be configured to detect the indication and selectively generate an alarm. In some cases, the wound therapy monitoring device can be disposed in a wound or in a fluidic connector connecting the reduced pressure wound therapy device to the wound.
NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A negative pressure wound treatment system comprising a bandage portion and a negative pressure portion. The bandage portion includes a dressing portion in contact with a wound and a sealing layer positioned in contact with the dressing portion. The sealing layer includes an adhesive creating a seal around the wound. The negative pressure portion is in fluid communication with the bandage portion and includes a first valve and a second valve. The first valve is in fluid communication with the bandage portion and the negative pressure portion. The second valve is in fluid communication with the negative pressure portion and the surrounding environment. The negative pressure wound treatment system is configured to provide negative pressure to an area sealed by the bandage portion upon the actuation of the negative pressure portion. The negative pressure portion is configured to be actuated by compressing the negative pressure portion while walking.
Compression strain and negative pressure delivery indicator for a wound dressing
An indicator configured to be attached to a wound dressing includes first and second parts. The wound dressing is configured to collapse in response to an applied negative pressure. The first and second indicator parts are configured to move relative to one another as the wound dressing is collapsed. The movement of the first and second indicator parts is configured to allow a user to easily visualize the compression of the wound dressing and monitor the application of the negative pressure to the wound dressing. A marker is provided along a top surface of the first part and a window is formed on the second part. The changes in the portion of the marker that is visible in the window as the first part is slid into or under the second part are configured to provide for easier detection of the collapse of the wound dressing by the user.
ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR CONTROLLED AND MEASURED INTERNAL FLUID AFTER SURGERY
A system and apparatus for the collection of serous or serosanguinous fluid from a percutaneous site after surgery. A pump unit with one or more pumps or powered sources provide continuous negative pressure suction to draw fluid from the percutaneous site and pumps the fluid into disposable reservoirs with one-way valves that are easy to handle while maintaining sterility and a seal to prevent the loss of vacuum. Air is continuously removed from the reservoirs. Measurement and analysis of the output is performed automatically. Additionally, through such a peristaltic pump device, controlled collection of measured surgical and/or bodily fluid from a subject patient may be undertaken allowing for more effective and closer analysis, as well.
PORTABLE WOUND THERAPY SYSTEM
A portable system for subatmospheric pressure therapy in connection with healing a surgical wound, includes a wound dressing dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed of a subject, a portable subatmospheric pressure mechanism dimensioned to be carried or worn by the subject and a container for collecting exudates from the wound bed removed under the subatmospheric pressure supplied by the subatmospheric pressure mechanism. The portable subatmospheric pressure mechanism includes a housing, a subatmospheric pressure source disposed within the housing and in fluid communication with the wound dressing to supply subatmospheric pressure to the wound dressing and a power source mounted to or within the housing for supplying power to actuate the subatmospheric pressure source.
NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY APPARATUS
Disclosed embodiments relate to apparatuses and methods for wound treatment. In certain embodiments, a wound treatment apparatus can comprise a wound dressing configured to be positioned over a wound site. The wound dressing can comprise an absorbent layer for absorbing wound exudate. The absorbent layer can comprise a superabsorbent material, wherein the superabsorbent material is positioned at one or more target areas of the absorbent layer. A backing layer can be provided over the absorbent layer and comprising at least one orifice.
Surgical drain system and method of use
A surgical drain system for use during and following surgery is provided. A collection reservoir is placed in fluid communication with the body of a user through a collection port. A pump creates a vacuum pressure to urge fluid into the collection reservoir. Fluid exits the collection reservoir through a drain port. A drain mechanism allows air to come into the collection reservoir through an air intake aperture and collected fluid to leave the reservoir simultaneously. The drain system can be worn beneath clothes.
Absorbent negative pressure wound therapy dressing
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a wound treatment apparatus employing hydrophobic and hydrophilic dressing materials and/or coating of the layers of a wound dressing. In some embodiments, the hydrophobic and hydrophilic dressing materials and/or coating controls the migration of fluid within the wound dressing.
DISTRIBUTED NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY SYSTEM INCORPORATING AN ABSORBENT DRESSING AND PIEZO-ELECTRIC PUMP
A negative pressure wound therapy system includes a wound dressing, at least one pump fluidly coupled to the fluid interface, a pressure sensor fluidly coupled to the wound dressing, a control housing, and an electrical coupler. The wound dressing includes a sealing layer, an absorbent layer adjacent to the sealing layer, and a fluid interface attached to at least one of the sealing layer or the absorbent layer. The at least one pump is configured to apply negative pressure to the fluid interface to draw fluid from the wound dressing via the fluid interface. The pressure sensor is configured to detect a fluid pressure of the wound dressing. The control housing is remote from the wound dressing. The electrical coupler is configured to removably connect the control housing to the at least one pump.
