Cable for connecting system components

Described are cables for connecting components of computing systems. The cables improve automation and resulting performance of high frequency and/or high speed signal transmissions by providing reliable transmission paths between hardware components. An example cable includes parallel conductors and a dielectric core that secures the parallel conductors along the length using parallel channels in opposite sides of the dielectric core. An alignment structure is also formed in the dielectric core, which has a shape along the length of the cable. A cable jacket surrounds the parallel conductors and the dielectric core. The cable jacket is contoured to follow the shape of the alignment structure. The dielectric core can be formed to maintain consistent separation between the parallel channels along the length of the cable to match impedance of the parallel conductors along the length of the cable, whether the cable lays flat or bends around corners.

The present invention relates to a thermal line (1) for transmitting an electrical signal to a module block (5) comprising a group of connections for electrical contact to be made by the thermal line (1), and to a system of module blocks. The thermal line (1) comprises a first core (2a) and a second core (3a), a first core insulation material (2b) and a second core insulation material (3b) and also an external insulation material (4), wherein the first core (2a) is sheathed at least once by the first core insulation material (2b) and forms a first line element (2), and the second core (3a) is sheathed at least once by the second core insulation material (3b) and/or is separately sheathed at least once by the external insulation material (4) and forms a second line element (3). Furthermore, the first line element (2) has a first outside diameter (D1) and the second line element (3) has a second outside diameter (D2), wherein the first outside diameter (D1) differs from the second outside diameter (D2). The two line elements (2, 3) are jointly sheathed at least once by the external insulation material (4) in such a way that the cross section of the thermal line (1) has a coding which is secured against reversal.

ELECTRICAL CABLE FOR CONNECTION TO AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT

The invention relates to an electrical cable (2) for connection to an electrical component (20), wherein the cable (2) has at least one electrical conductor (4).

CABLE UTILIZATION TACTILE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

A cable utilization tactile identification system includes a first cable utilization tactile identification subsystem having a first cable extending from a first cable connector. A first outer surface on the first cable has a first color that visually identifies a first utilization of the first cable utilization tactile identification subsystem, and is provided with first texture pattern that tactilely identifies the first utilization of the first cable utilization tactile identification subsystem. The cable utilization tactile identification system may also include a second cable utilization tactile identification subsystem having a second cable extending from a second cable connector. A second outer surface on the second cable has a second color that visually identifies a second utilization of the second cable utilization tactile identification subsystem, and is provided with a second texture pattern that tactilely identifies the second utilization of the second cable utilization tactile identification subsystem.
