Polymer composition with improved stress whitening resistance
A polymer composition is provided with improved stress whitening resistance, having at least one thermoplastic polymer material and a dielectric liquid. A process for preparing the polymer composition, a cable having at least one electrically insulating layer obtained from the polymer composition, and a process for preparing the cable are also provided.
POWER CABLE
A power cable including: a conductor extending along a center axis; an insulation system including at least a first semiconducting layer provided around the conductor, and an insulation layer provided around the first semiconducting layer; wherein the insulation layer includes: a) 60 to 90 wt % polypropylene; b) 5 to 20 wt % styrene block copolymer; c) 1 to 6 wt % dielectric fluid; and d) 0 to 15 wt % polyethylene.
CABLE ASSEMBLY WITH INTEGRATED FILTER
An electrical cable assembly includes a cable portion and a connector housing portion coupled to the cable portion. The cable portion includes a first electrical conductor circumferentially surrounded by a first set of layers. The first set of layers includes a first semiconductive layer, a first insulative layer, a second semiconductive layer, a magnetic layer, a second insulative layer, and an electrically conductive. The connector housing portion includes a connector housing, a printed circuit board disposed within the connector housing; and a set of capacitors mounted to the printed circuit board and coupled to the magnetic layer.
SEMICONDUCTIVE TAPES FOR CABLES AND METHODS FOR THE SAME
A semiconducting tape for a power or signal carrying cable or a conductor assembly thereof is described herein. The semiconducting tape may include a nonwoven sheet and a semiconductive composition disposed on the nonwoven sheet. The semiconductive composition may include a resin or a polymer and a conductive material disposed in the resin or the polymer. The nonwoven sheet may include a first plurality of fibers and a second plurality of fibers, wherein the first plurality of fibers is different than the second plurality of fibers. The semiconducting tape may have a penetration resistance of less than 5% or a penetration resistance of about 400 Newtons (N) or greater.
Electrical cable that limits partial discharges
An aerospace cable that limits the occurrence of partial discharges includes an elongate electrically conductive element surrounded by a semiconductor layer and an insulation system around the semiconductor layer. This insulation system has an electrically insulating layer surrounding the semiconductor layer. Each layer of the insulation system has a radial thickness (ei . . . ), and in that an equivalent insulation thickness (teq) of this insulation system is greater than or equal to the result of a third-degree polynomial function equation of a minimum pressure and of a maximum temperature at which the cable is intended to be used.
