Shielded cable

Shielded cables (200) are described. More specifically, shielded cables (200) that include a plurality of separate individual conductor sets (210) are described. The individual conductor sets (210) include two or more insulated conductors, first and second conductive shielding films, and an insulating jacket surrounding the plurality of conductor sets. A variety of potential cable shapes and configurations are also described.

A shielded electrical cable includes conductor sets extending along a length of the cable and spaced apart from each other along a width of the cable. First and second shielding films are disposed on opposite sides of the cable and include cover portions and pinched portions arranged such that, in transverse cross section, the cover portions of the films in combination substantially surround each conductor set. An adhesive layer bonds the shielding films together in the pinched portions of the cable. A transverse bending of the cable at a cable location of no more than 180 degrees over an inner radius of at most 2 mm causes a cable impedance of the selected insulated conductor proximate the cable location to vary by no more than 2 percent from an initial cable impedance measured at the cable location in an unbent configuration.

Heat detection line and multi-core cable

A heat detection line includes a twisted pair wire composed of a pair of heat detecting wires being twisted together. Each heat detecting wire includes a conductor and an insulator covering a periphery of the conductor. The conductor is non-magnetic and composed of a copper alloy with a tensile strength of 900 MPa or more. A multi-core cable includes the heat detection line, a plurality of electric wires, and a sheath covering the heat detection line and the plurality of electric wires together. A melting point of the insulator of the heat detection line is lower than a melting point of an insulator of each of the plurality of electric wires.

The present disclosure describes methods of manufacture and implementations of hybrid separators for data cables having conductive and non-conductive or metallic and non-metallic portions, and data cables including such hybrid separators. A hybrid separator comprising one or more conductive portions and one or more non-conductive portions may be positioned within a data cable between adjacent pairs of twisted insulated and shielded or unshielded conductors so as to provide physical and electrical separation of the conductors. The position and extent (laterally and longitudinally) of each conductive portion and each non-conductive portion may be selected for optimum performance of the data cable, including attenuation or rejection of cross talk, reduction of return loss, increase of stability, and control of impedance.

Cable

A cable is composed of a cable core including one or more electric wires, a shield layer covering around the cable core, and a sheath covering around the shield layer. The shield layer includes a braided shield braided in such a manner that first metal wires composed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy intersect with second metal wires composed of copper or a copper alloy. An outer diameter of each of the second metal wires is larger than an outer diameter of each of the first metal wires.

Cable and wire harness

A cable includes a plurality of electric wires, and a tape member spirally wound around an assembled article that is formed by twisting the plurality of electric wires. The thickness of the tape member is not less than 0.028 mm and not more than 0.090 mm, a width of the tape member is not less than 18 mm and not more than 35 mm, the tape member is spirally wound with an overlap of not less than and not more than of the width thereof, and a tensile strength of the tape member is different between the longitudinal direction and the width direction and is smaller in the width direction than in the longitudinal direction.
