A helmet removal system includes a detachable helmet liner configured to be positioned in a helmet. The helmet liner includes a central portion configured to receive a user's head therein, a frontal portion integrally formed with the central portion and configured to engage a user's frontal head portion. The helmet liner further includes dual side tab portions integrally formed with the central portion. The dual tab portions are configured to be moved between a folded position, inside of the helmet, to an unfolded position. The helmet liner further includes a top portion extending between opposing edges of the central portion. The helmet liner also includes a rear portion integrally connected to the central portion to provide balanced engagement with the back of a user's head. Helmet removal is achieved by applying lateral pulling forces to the dual tab portions.

Helmet

A helmet for protecting a wearer's head. The helmet includes an outer shell including a first shell member and a second shell member movable relative to one another in a longitudinal direction of the helmet to adjust a fit of the helmet on the wearer's head. The helmet includes an adjustment mechanism configured to control movement of the first shell member and the second shell member relative to one another. The adjustment mechanism includes an actuator movable between a first position in which the first shell member and the second shell member are allowed to move relative to one another and a second position in which the first shell member and the second shell member are precluded from moving relative to one another. The actuator is configured to lock the first shell member and the second shell member relative to one another without extending through a given one of the first shell member and the second shell member.

LACROSSE HELMET

A lacrosse helmet with a plastic shell has a full jaw protector attached to the shell at a right side of the shell and at a left side of the shell, extending forwardly from the shell and extending continuously from the right side of the shell to the left side of the shell and adapted to cover and protect a lower jaw of the wearer. A faceguard made of a grid of horizontal wire members, vertical wire members, and a bottom wire member is removably attached to both the shell and the full jaw protector by loop straps. T-intersections are formed by the bottom wire member and certain of the vertical wire members, adjacent to and above the full jaw protector and forward of loop straps connecting the faceguard to the jaw protector. The loop straps act as stops against rearward movement of the vertical wire members thereby resisting the tendency of the faceguard to slide and twist when struck with blows during sports play.

FOOTBALL HELMET WITH IMPACT ATTENUATION SYSTEM

A protective football helmet is provided having a one-piece molded shell with an impact attenuation system. This system includes an impact attenuation member formed in an extent of the front shell portion by removing material from the front portion. The impact attenuation member is purposely engineered to change how the front portion responds to an impact force applied substantially normal to the front portion as compared to how other portions of the shell respond to that impact force. In one version, the impact attenuation member is a cantilevered segment formed in the front portion of the shell.

SAFETY HELMET CAPABLE OF ABSORBING MULTI-DIRECTION IMPACT

A safety helmet includes a shell, a flexible frame attached to the shell from inside, and a slide-facilitating member attached to the flexible frame from inside. In virtue of the slide-facilitating member, the shell when receiving incoming impact can slide with respect to a head of a user wearing it, so that the safety helmet can absorb and convert energy of the incoming impact force into other forms of energy, thereby enhancing protection to the user's head.

HELMET FOR IMPACT PROTECTION

A helmet for protecting a head of a wearer, such as a hockey, lacrosse, football or other sports player. The helmet comprising an outer shell and an inner padding disposed between the outer shell and the wearer's head when the helmet is worn. The inner padding comprising a plurality of shock absorbers and an interconnector interconnecting the shock absorbers, each shock absorber being deformable in response to a rotational impact on the helmet such that an outer part of the shock absorber moves relative to an inner part of the shock absorber in a direction tangential to an angular movement of the outer shell due to the rotational impact.

Adjustable hockey helmet

An adjustable hockey helmet includes a front shell that is longitudinally movable relative to a rear shell to adjust the length of the helmet. One or more substantially rigid straps or similar elements are attached to the front shell and extend to the interior of the rear shell. A cam mechanism or similar device is included on the rear shell for securing the straps directly or indirectly against the interior of the rear shell to prevent longitudinal movement of the front shell relative to the rear shell once the helmet is adjusted to a desired length. Alternatively, the one or more straps may be attached to the rear shell and the cam mechanism may be included on the front shell.
