Shielded cable assembly

A shielded cable assembly capable of transmitting signals at speeds of 3.5 Gigabits per second (Gb/s) or higher without modulation or encoding over a single pair of conductors. The cable has a characteristic impedance of 95 Ohms and can support transmission data according to either USB 3.0 or HDMI 1.4 performance specifications. The wire cable includes a pair of conductors, a shield surrounding the conductors, and a dielectric structure configured to maintain a first predetermined spacing between the conductors and a second predetermined spacing between said conductors and said shield. The shield includes an inner shield conductor enclosing the dielectric structure and an outer shield conductor enclosing the inner shield conductor.

An indoor rated communications cable includes a communications carrying medium surrounded by a jacket. A material used to form the jacket is a polymer including a microencapsulated ammonium octamolybdate (AOM) additive therein. In some embodiments, the polymer may include polyvinyl chloride (PVC), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) or polyolefin (PO). One or more additional flame retardants may also be added to the polymer. The communications cable may be a twisted pair, fiber optic or coaxial cable. The present invention also provides a method of forming the communications cable.

The present disclosure describes methods of manufacture and implementations of hybrid separators for data cables having conductive and non-conductive or metallic and non-metallic portions, and data cables including such hybrid separators. A hybrid separator comprising one or more conductive portions and one or more non-conductive portions may be positioned within a data cable between adjacent pairs of twisted insulated and shielded or unshielded conductors so as to provide physical and electrical separation of the conductors. The position and extent (laterally and longitudinally) of each conductive portion and each non-conductive portion may be selected for optimum performance of the data cable, including attenuation or rejection of cross talk, reduction of return loss, increase of stability, and control of impedance

Armored data cable assembly

A data cable assembly includes at least one pair of conductors twisted about one another, optionally disposed along an outer surface of a pair separator. The conductors are covered by an inner jacket, and an armor disposed on the outer surface of the inner jacket. The inner jacket is covered by an outer jacket with a rip cord disposed between the armor and the outer jacket.

CABLE

A cable includes a cable core including a linear filler, and a plurality of core wires for signal transmission, a shield layer covering around the cable core, and a sheath covering around the shield layer. The filler includes a first filler provided at a cable center, and a plurality of second fillers provided around the first filler to form a cross-shape with the first filler in a cross-section perpendicular to a cable longitudinal direction. The cable corethe cable core is configured in such a manner that the plurality of core wires and the plurality of second fillers are spirally twisted around the first filler to be alternately arranged in a circumferential direction.

Foamed polycarbonate separators and cables thereof

A cable separator includes a body, and the body includes a polycarbonate-based material that is at least a partially foamed. Cables and methods of manufacturing such cables having a separator are also provided.

Composite cable with inclusion interposed between separator and sheath

A composite cable that enables to easily restrain falling-off of separator dust at the time of peeling off a sheath, in comparison with composite cables in the conventional art. The composite cable includes a plurality of wires, a separator that covers the outer circumference of the plurality of wires all together, a sheath that covers the outer circumference of the separator, and an inclusion that is interposed between the separator and the sheath. The separator has a base layer composed of a polymer and an adhesive layer formed on the surface of the base layer on the inclusion side. In the composite cable, the adhesive layer is adhered to the inclusion.
