LOW-LATENCY AND HIGH-BANDWIDTH DATA CABLE
20210135947 · 2021-05-06 ·

A data cable compatible with twisted-pair standards and equipment uses separate coaxial wires with unique dielectric properties to transmit each of the signals and provide lower latency, greater bandwidth, and lower loss. This design addresses the latency issues that limit the physical size of supercomputers and can be significant for high-performance computing projects, cryptocurrency mining, high-frequency trading, and other time-sensitive applications via the use of a dielectric with a low refractive index and physical design that meets specifications for ethernet cables. The design provides for flexibility in overall shielding and the connections of shields for individual elements to address the likelihood of electromagnetic interference in an environment. The dimensions and choice of dielectric can be modified to provide higher velocity factors and/or greater bandwidth.

Described herein are quick-connect twisted pair cables, cable systems and methods of installing/connecting them. For example, a quick-connect twisted pair cable may include a plurality of pairs of insulated wires within an outer insulating cover; within the insulating cover each of the plurality of pairs of insulated wires are wrapped around each other within elongate tubular body regions, and unwrapped (e.g., parallel) in flattened regions between the elongate tubular body regions. A quick plug connector may be configured as a standard (e.g., RJ-45) connector type.

Circuit Board Assembly with High-Speed Cable
20210065932 · 2021-03-04 ·

A circuit board assembly has a circuit board and a high-speed cable. The high-speed cable has two signal lines, a ground conductor, an impedance-reducing conductor, and a covering material. The signal lines, the ground conductor, and the impedance-reducing conductor are mounted through the entire high-speed cable. The covering material wraps the signal lines, the ground conductor, and the impedance-reducing conductor, and has a conductive layer and an isolation layer as an inner layer and an outer layer respectively. The conductive layer has multiple loops electrically connected to the ground conductor and the impedance-reducing conductor. Thus, the impedance in the covering material, the ground conductor, and the impedance-reducing conductor is decreased, which prevents from attenuating the signal intensity during transmission at high frequency.

Communication cable

A communication cable that includes a twisted wire pair that includes a pair of insulated wires that are twisted together and that each include a conductor and an insulating covering that covers an outer periphery of the conductor; and a sheath that is made of an insulating material and continuously covers an entire outer periphery of the twisted wire pair about a center along a longitudinal axis of the twisted wire pair, wherein the sheath has a dielectric loss tangent of 0.0001 or more in a frequency range of 1 to 50 MHz.
