HIGH DENSITY SHIELDED ELECTRICAL CABLE AND OTHER SHIELDED CABLES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

A shielded electrical ribbon cable includes adjacent first and second longitudinal conductor sets where each conductor set includes two or more insulated conductors. The first conductor set also includes a ground conductor that generally lies in the plane of the insulated conductors of the first conductor set. At least 90% of the periphery of each conductor set is encompassed by a shielding film. First and second non-conductive polymeric films are disposed on opposite sides of the cable and form cover portions substantially surrounding each conductor set, and pinched portions on each side of each conductor set. When the cable is laid flat, the distance between the center of the ground conductor of the first conductor set and the center of the nearest insulated conductor of the second conductor set is ?1, the center-to-center spacing of the insulated conductors of the second conductor set is ?2, and ?1/?2 is greater than 0.7.

Noise reduction circuit

In some embodiments, a noise reduction circuit comprises an insulated wire comprising a conductor and insulation. A shielding material is oriented around the insulated wire. The shielding material comprises metallized fibers.

Method of Installing Fire Resistant Corrugated Coaxial Cable
20240221978 · 2024-07-04 · ·

A method of installing a fire resistant corrugated coaxial cable that employs a high-temperature, insulating alkaline earth silicate (AES) wool dielectric is described. The AES wool dielectric is devoid of water as a constituent. The AES wool may be survivable under conditions of high heat, such as temperatures specified by common fire test standards (e.g., 1850? F./1010? C. for two hours). The cable is configured to maintain a relatively coaxial relation between a center conductor and an outer conductor even under aforementioned fire tests. A layer of ceramifiable silicone rubber or refractory fiber wrap can surround the outer conductor and continues to insulate it from the outside if a low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) jacket burns away.

A quad-shield coaxial cable includes an insulator portion configured to encircle an inner conductor portion, an inner conductive foil portion configured to encircle the insulator portion, an inner braided shield portion configured to encircle the inner conductive foil layer portion, an outer braided shield portion configured to encircle the inner braided shield portion, an outer conductive foil portion configured to encircle the outer braided shield portion, and a jacket portion configured to encircle the outer conductive foil portion.

Shielded electrical cable

A shielded electrical cable includes a conductor set and two generally parallel shielding films disposed around the conductor set. The conductor set includes one or more substantially parallel longitudinal insulated conductors. The shielding films include a parallel portion wherein the shielding films are substantially parallel. The parallel portion is configured to electrically isolate the conductor set.

Electrical cable

An electrical cable includes a conductor assembly having a first conductor, a second conductor, a first insulator surrounding the first conductor and a second insulator surrounding the second conductor. The first insulator has a first thickness between the first conductor and an outer surface. The second insulator has a second thickness between the second conductor and an outer surface. The first thickness is greater than the second thickness. A cable shield is wrapped around the conductor assembly and engages the outer surface of the first insulator along a first segment and engaging the outer surface of the second insulator along a second segment. The cable shield has an inner edge and a flap covering the inner edge. The cable shield forms a void at the inner edge located closer to the first conductor than the second conductor.
