SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FORMING A CABLE
Systems and methods are provided for forming a cable. In one embodiment, a system for forming a cable comprises a non-driven roll station having a plurality of rolls for forming a shape of one or more strands associated with a first layer of the cable. Movement of the plurality of rolls of the non-driven roll station occurs passively during travel of the one or more strands associated with the first layer of the cable. The system further comprises a driven roll station having a plurality of rolls for forming a shape of one or more strands associated with a second layer of the cable. The plurality of rolls of the driven roll station are actively driven to effect movement and speed of the one or more strands associated with the second layer of the cable.
STRANDED CONDUCTOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING STRANDED CONDUCTOR
According to embodiments of the present invention, a stranded conductor is formed in which the occurrence of defects, such as strand unevenness of filaments and outward protrusion of filaments, is inhibited. According to embodiments of the present invention, a stranded conductor (1a) includes soft filaments (2a) stranded together. The soft filaments (2a) include a soft filament made of an aluminum material, disposed along a center (101), and include six soft filaments, twelve soft filaments, and eighteen soft filaments made of an aluminum material, disposed around and concentrically with the center. The filaments are softened filaments that are softened. A lay length (Pa) is from 6.2 times to 15.7 times a conductor diameter of the stranded conductor.
ALUMINUM ALLOY CONDUCTOR, INSULATED WIRE INCLUDING THE CONDUCTOR, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE INSULATED WIRE
It is an objective of the invention to provide an Al alloy conductor exhibiting mechanical properties and heat resistance that are balanced at a higher level than conventional Al alloy conductors while having an electrical conductivity comparable to that of any conventional Al-based material. There is provided an Al alloy conductor formed of an Al alloy. The Al alloy has a chemical composition including Co of 0.1 mass % or more and 1 mass % or less, at least one of Sc of 0.1 mass % or more and 0.5 mass % or less and Zr of 0.2 mass % or more and 0.5 mass % or less, and the balance made up of Al and inevitable impurities. The Al alloy conductor has a matrix containing fine particles of a compound of at least one of the Sc and the Zr with the Al. The fine particles are dispersedly precipitated in the matrix.
Energy Efficient Conductors With Reduced Thermal Knee Points And The Method Of Manufacture Thereof
The present invention relates to electrical conductors for electrical transmission and distribution with pre-stress conditioning of the strength member so that the conductive materials of aluminum, aluminum alloys, copper, copper alloys, or copper micro-alloys are mostly tension free or under compressive stress in the conductor, while the strength member is under tensile stress prior to conductor stringing, resulting in a lower thermal knee point in the conductor.
System and method for forming wire and cable
A system and method for manufacturing wire and cable products with a polymer cable component is provided. The systems and methods include increasing the hardness of a polymer cable component in order to reduce compression and deformation of the cable components during manufacturing. In some instances, the hardness is temporarily increased prior to or during the process of creating twisted pair or during the cabling process.

High-temperature corrosion-resistant stranded conductors and methods for manufacturing the same
Provided are a high-temperature corrosion-resistant stranded conductor and a method for manufacturing the same, which relate to the field of high-temperature conductor technologies. The stranded conductor is formed by twisting a plurality of composite wire monofilaments, each including a highly conductive core wire made of copper or a copper alloy, and a high-temperature corrosion-resistant alloy cladding the core wire. The stranded conductor is capable of maintaining strength and transmitting a signal under a high-temperature atmospheric environment below 1000 C. for an extended period of time. By employing a plurality of twisted composite wire monofilaments with the above structure, the conductor achieves high strength retention, stable electrical conductivity, and superior oxidation/corrosion resistance when operating long-term under operating conditions of 600 C. to 1000 C. This solves the technical problem of conventional conductors failing in high-temperature environments.
MULTICORE CABLE ASSEMBLY MANUFACTURING METHOD, MULTICORE CABLE ASSEMBLY MANUFACTURING APPARATUS, AND STRANDING MACHINE
A method for manufacturing a multicore cable assembly in which one ends of a plurality of spirally twisted insulated wires are connected to a plurality of electrodes of a board, includes a stripping step of removing an insulating coating at each of the one ends of the plurality of insulated wires to expose a core wire, a connecting step of connecting the core wires at the one ends of the plurality of insulated wires to the plurality of electrodes of the board after the stripping step, and a stranding step of stranding the plurality of insulated wires into a spiral shape after the connecting step.
