Heat generating apparatus
The heat generating apparatus according to the present invention includes: a positive temperature coefficient thermistor heat generating element including an electrode layer; a first electrode terminal; a second electrode terminal; a holder configured to house the positive temperature coefficient thermistor heat generating element; and a heat conductive sheet, in which the heat conductive sheet includes a graphite particle and a polymer compound, a major axis direction of the graphite particle is substantially orthogonal to the surface of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor heat generating element, and the positive temperature coefficient thermistor heat generating element and the holder are assembled in a state in which they are biased so as to apply pressure to the heat conductive sheet.

A PPTC device is provided. The PPTC device may include a first electrode and a second electrode, disposed opposite the first electrode. The PPTC device may include a PPTC layer, disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, the PPTC layer comprising a polymer matrix formed from a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material.

A circuit protection device including a primary fuse, and a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) device and a secondary fuse electrically connected in series with one another and in parallel with the primary fuse, the secondary fuse formed of a quantity of solder disposed on a dielectric surface, wherein the dielectric surface exhibits a de-wetting characteristic relative to the solder such that, when the solder is melted, the solder draws away from the dielectric surface to create a galvanic opening.
PTC THERMISTOR SWITCH FOR ELECTRIC MOTORS
A PTC thermistor switch for electric motors includes an insulating casing and a PTC thermistor housed in a housing seat made in the insulating casing. The PTC thermistor has a first face and a second face opposite the first face. A first electric terminal is housed in the insulating casing and has two protrusions in direct contact with the first face of the PTC thermistor in two opposite contact points with respect to the center of the first face. The switch also includes a second electric terminal housed in the insulating casing and an elastic arm portion in direct contact with the second face of the PTC thermistor in an intermediate contact point between the contact points of the protrusions. The second electric terminal is arranged so that the elastic arm portion presses against the second face of the PTC thermistor.

Over-current protection device
An over-current protection device is a hexahedron comprising an upper surface, a lower surface and four lateral surfaces. The over-current protection device comprises a PTC device, a first insulating layer, a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer. The PTC device comprises a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and a PTC material layer laminated therebetween. The first conductive layer comprises a first conductive section and a second conductive section separated by at least one trench. The first insulating layer is disposed on the first conductive layer. The first electrode layer is disposed on the first insulating layer and electrically coupled to the first conductive section. The second electrode layer is disposed on the first insulating layer and electrically coupled to the second conductive section. The trench comprises a primary portion not parallel to a longitudinal direction of the first and second electrode layers.
Composite circuit protection device
A composite circuit protection device includes a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) component, a voltage-dependent resistor, a first conductive lead and a second conductive lead. The PTC component includes a PTC polymeric layer, and first and second electrode layers respectively disposed on two opposite surfaces of the PTC polymeric layer. The voltage-dependent resistor is connected to the second electrode layer of the PTC component. The first and second conductive leads are respectively bonded to the first electrode layer of the PTC component and the voltage-dependent resistor. The PTC component has a rated voltage ranging between 40% and 200% of a varistor voltage of the voltage-dependent resistor.
PTC CIRCUIT PROTECTION DEVICE
A PTC circuit protection device includes a PTC polymer material and two electrodes attached to the PTC polymer material. The PTC polymer material includes a polymer matrix and a particulate conductive filler dispersed in the polymer matrix. The polymer matrix is made from a polymer composition that contains a non-grafted polyolefin. The conductive filler includes first tungsten carbide particles having a first average Fisher sub-sieve particle size of less than 2.5 m and a first particle size distribution with a particle size D10 being less than 2.0 m and a particle size D100 being less than 10.0 m.

A PPTC device is provided. The PPTC device may include a first electrode and a second electrode, disposed opposite the first electrode. A polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) device including a PPTC body, a first electrode disposed on a first side of the PPTC body, and a second electrode disposed on a second side of the PPTC body, wherein the PPTC body is formed of a PPTC material that includes a maximum of 65% by volume of a conductive filler, wherein 10%-39% by volume of the PPTC material is a conductive ceramic filler and wherein the rest of the conductive filler includes at least one of carbon and a metallic filler.
