Patch-sized fluid delivery systems and methods

A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.

Wearable pump assembly

A wearable infusion pump assembly includes a reusable housing assembly, and a disposable housing assembly including a reservoir for receiving an infusible fluid. A releasable engagement assembly is configured to allow the reusable housing assembly to releasably engage the disposable housing assembly. A detachable external infusion set is configured to deliver the infusible fluid to a user.

Medicament delivery device

The present disclosure relates to a medicament delivery device. The medicament delivery device comprises a housing, a dispensing mechanism and an actuator. The housing has first and second portions. The dispensing mechanism comprises a reservoir disposed in the housing. The dispensing mechanism is operable to dispense medicament from the reservoir when the reservoir contains medicament. The first portion of the housing comprises a distal end and the second portion is moveable towards the distal end from an initial position to a primed position. The dispensing mechanism is rendered inoperable when the second portion is in the initial portion. The actuator is actuatable to operate the dispensing mechanism when the second portion is in the primed position.

DRIP CHAMBER ASSEMBLY

Drip chamber assemblies are described herein. A drip chamber assembly includes a drip chamber and a filter. The drip chamber includes a chamber body defining a chamber volume. The filter is disposed within the chamber volume. The filter includes a folded filter media, which defines an inlet portion of the chamber volume and an outlet portion of the chamber volume. The folded filter media permits inlet flow from the inlet portion of the chamber volume to the outlet portion of the chamber volume. The folded filter media captures particulate from the inlet flow.

A repeater system may control a pump by using a repeater and a user interface. An adhesive patch system may be used for affixing a pump or other object to a human body. Such an adhesive patch system may include two sets of adhesive members, each member including an adhesive material on at least one side so as to attach to the body. The members of the first set are spaced to allow the members of the second set to attach to the body in spaces provided between the members of the first set, and the members of the second set are spaced to allow members of the first set to detach from the body without detaching the members of the second set. Also, fill stations and base stations are provided for personal pump systems.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR FILLING IV BAGS WITH THERAPEUTIC FLUID

A portable electronic fluid dispensing system can provide pre-filled, pre-primed IV bag assemblies comprising therapeutic fluids. The same fluid line and connector in the IV bag assembly can be used to fill the IV bag as is used to withdraw fluid from the IV bag and infuse such fluid into the patient. The connection points along the IV assembly, such as the connection between the IV bag and a drip chamber, or between an IV bag and tubing, or between a drip chamber and tubing, or between tubing and a closeable, resealable connector, can each be resistant to disconnection by a user. The healthcare practitioner at the patient care site is not required to attach any of these components to each other, and the healthcare practitioner at the patient care site is not required to introduce a spike into a spike port on the IV bag.

Drug delivery device with air and backflow elimination

A wearable drug delivery device that can deliver a liquid drug stored in a container to a patient or user is provided. A soft needle or cannula can be placed in fluid communication with the liquid drug and can be coupled to a needle insertion component that provides access to the patient. A drive system of the drug delivery device can expel the liquid drug from the container to the patient through the soft needle or cannula. The wearable drug delivery device can include components for preventing backflow and eliminating air within the liquid drug. As a result, the comfort of the patient can be enhanced and correct drug dosages can be provided when using the drug delivery device.

EXPANDABLE DRIP CHAMBER

Drip chambers are described herein. A drip chamber comprises an inlet, an outlet, and a chamber body. The chamber body defines a chamber volume in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. The chamber body is movable between a collapsed configuration having a first volume and an expanded configuration having a second volume. The second volume is larger than the first volume, and the chamber body is configured to be moved from the collapsed configuration to the expanded configuration to draw in a medical fluid from the inlet into the chamber volume to prime the drip chamber.
