Systems and methods are provided for signaling a condition of an infusion assembly. An example system may comprise an elastomeric pump that includes a chamber for receipt of a volume of fluid, an outer layer configured to expand and contract as the chamber receives and dispenses the fluid, and a passive indicator provided on the outer layer for signaling a change in the volume of the fluid in the chamber. The example system further may comprise an image capture device configured to capture an image of the pump, and a processing system configured to process the image to signal the condition of the infusion assembly to a user of the system. An example method may comprise capturing the image of the pump; processing the image; and displaying information to the user of the pump to communicate a condition of the pump to the user. Various elastomeric pumps for infusion assemblies also are provided.

The first processor and the second processor are configured to exchange one or more operating parameters when the modular pumping unit is docked to the primary control unit. The modular pumping unit is configured to pump the fluid after being undocked.

The controller can be configured and programmed to determine whether the identification code read by the short-range non-contact identifier matches any authorized identification code of a set of one or more authorized identification codes, and if so, and if the dose request button is pressed, the controller can then communicate a dose request to the medicament delivery device via the communication interface.

A system, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed that provide pump interconnectivity for pain medication therapies. In an example embodiment, a system includes a patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pump, an infusion pump, and a hub device configured to connect to the PCA pump and the infusion pump. The hub device is configured to determine the PCA pump and the infusion pump are both communicatively connected to the hub device, enable the PCA pump and the infusion pump to communicate with each other for a pain medication therapy, and enable the infusion pump to deliver the fluid to the patient when the infusion pump detects a period between periodic PCA pump boluses.
