PERISTALTIC INFUSION PUMP TUBE SEGMENT AND INFUSION PUMP DEVICE WITH SUCH A TUBE SEGMENT
20220241499 · 2022-08-04 · ·

A peristaltic infusion pump tube segment comprises a first tube portion having a surrounding wall adapted for an upstream occlusion detection, a second tube portion downstream of said first tube portion and adapted to be temporally engaged by an engagement structure, wherein said second tube portion comprises a surrounding wall being at least partly thicker than the wall of said first tube portion and made of an elastic material which allows said second tube portion to be essentially reformed at those portions which are currently not subject to the engagement by the engagement structure, a third tube portion downstream of said second tube portion and having a surrounding wall adapted for an air in line detection, and a fourth tube portion adapted for a downstream pressure detection. The peristaltic infusion pump tube segment is provided in an infusion pump device which comprises a pump mechanism configured as a peristaltic mechanism.

PARENTERAL ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATIONS, FLUIDS, AND NUTRITION
20220296809 · 2022-09-22 ·

The present invention relates to the delivery of therapeutic agents into interstitial fluid and designed to substitute other forms of parenteral administration of fluid and medications when it is appropriate. The invention features an expandable reservoir made from mesh and a stylet guided catheter. The innovation of proposed catheter comprises to a catheter for administration of fluid and medications and a mechanism that safely secures the catheter inside the reservoir in order to prevent it from accidental dislodging. One of the ways to secure catheter is self-inflated balloon on its proximal end of the catheter.

Bolus delivery device

A bolus delivery device is provided that comprises a housing and a reservoir defined by an activation dome and a reservoir seat and disposed within the housing for receipt of a volume of a fluid. The bolus delivery device further comprises a bladder disposed in the housing that is in fluid communication with the reservoir for receipt of the fluid from the reservoir; an actuator; an inlet conduit in fluid communication with the reservoir for providing the fluid to the reservoir; and an outlet conduit in fluid communication with the bladder for providing the fluid to a patient. The actuator is in operative communication with the reservoir to initiate a flow of the fluid from the reservoir to the bladder. The bladder expands as the bladder receives the fluid and contracts as the bladder dispenses the fluid. An infusion assembly including a bolus delivery device also is provided.

Modular infusion system

A pump system is disclosed that comprises a control unit and one or more modular pumping units removably docked to the primary control unit. Each modular pumping unit comprises a pumping mechanism and a processor configured to control the pumping mechanism and communicate with the control unit. The modular pumping unit is configured to manipulate a portion of a fluid delivery set to pump a fluid. The first processor and the second processor are configured to exchange one or more operating parameters when the modular pumping unit is docked to the primary control unit. The modular pumping unit is configured to pump the fluid after being undocked.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONFIGURING A RULE SET FOR MEDICAL EVENT MANAGEMENT AND RESPONSES
20210316072 · 2021-10-14 ·

A system and method to configure a rule set used in connection with a medical monitoring system for monitoring patients and patient care equipment, especially medication delivery pumps, based on a variety of conditions and parameters associated with monitored biometric information and equipment information and for providing user-defined responses to those conditions and parameters.

Device for drug delivery

Disclosed is an ambulatory therapeutic fluid delivery device. The device includes at least one housing connectable to a cannula, the at least one housing retaining a reservoir to hold the therapeutic fluid. The device also includes a mechanically powered pumping mechanism to cause delivery of at least some of the fluid from the reservoir, and a power-transfer mechanism to transfer manually-delivered power provided by a user to mechanically actuate the pumping mechanism.

Syringe infusion devices and systems for delivery of active agents

A pump device (10) operable with a syringe (11) having a barrel (12) and a plunger (13). The pump device (10) is operable to cause relative movement between the syringe plunger (13) and the syringe barrel (12) for discharging fluid from the syringe (11). The pump device (10) comprises a portion (31) adapted to engage the syringe barrel (12), and a drive mechanism for moving the syringe plunger (13) relative to the syringe barrel (12) to discharge fluid from the syringe (11). The drive mechanism comprises an actuator (45) adapted to engage the syringe plunger (13) and a power mechanism (61) for moving the actuator (45) to effect movement of the syringe plunger (13) relative to the syringe barrel (12). The pump device (10) thus provides a syringe driving means. There is also provided an infusion system comprising a syringe driving means, the syringe driving means comprising the pump device (10). Further, there is provided an infusion system comprising a syringe driving means operable to maintain a constant pressure within a syringe and tubing with viscosity corrections for various antibiotic concentrations.

Priming System for Infusion Devices

Priming systems and infusion assemblies are provided. For example, a priming system comprises a priming conduit having a priming portion and a pressure portion. The priming portion is in fluid communication with a first fluid source, with an inlet and an outlet for ingress and egress of a first fluid from the first fluid source. The pressure portion is in fluid communication with a second fluid source connected by a connector. Disposed within the priming conduit are a biasing member and a valve having an open position and a closed position. The biasing member is in operable communication with the valve to urge the valve into the closed position such that the valve defaults to the closed position. The open position allows the first fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet and the closed position prevents the first fluid from flowing from the inlet to the outlet.
