Method for producing nanoparticles and the nanoparticles produced therefrom
Disclosed herein is a method comprising disposing a container containing a metal and/or ferromagnetic solid and abrasive particles in a static magnetic field; where the container is surrounded by an induction coil; activating the induction coil with an electrical current, to heat up the metallic or ferromagnetic solid to form a fluid; generating sonic energy to produce acoustic cavitation and abrasion between the abrasive particles and the container; and producing nanoparticles that comprise elements from the container, the metal and/or the ferromagnetic solid and the abrasive particles. Disclosed herein too is a composition comprising first metal or a first ceramic; and particles comprising carbides and/or nitrides dispersed therein. Disclosed herein too is a composition comprising nanoparticles comprising chromium carbide, iron carbide, nickel carbide, γ-Fe and magnesium nitride.
Method of forming magnetic flux optimization for uniquely shaped designs
A method of forming magnetically permeable material is provided. The method includes introducing magnetorheological (MR) fluid including one or more of magnetically permeable particles, fibers and fillers suspended in a curable liquid into a cavity, driving the magnetically permeable particles, fibers and/or fillers in the MR fluid into flux line formations and curing the curable liquid of the MR fluid during the driving to lock the flux line formations in place.

BRUSH COMPOSITIONS FOR MAGNETIC FIELD-ASSISTED FINISHING AND RELATED METHODS AND USES THEREOF
The disclosure relates to brush compositions for magnetic field-assisted finishing (MAF). In particular, the disclosure relates to brush compositions for MAF including a carrier fluid, optionally a solid lubricant dispersed in the carrier fluid, abrasive particles dispersed in the carrier fluid, and magnetic particles dispersed in the carrier fluid. The solid lubricant can be in the form of solid lubricant nanoplatelets or other nanoparticles. The disclosure also relates to systems, methods, and uses of the brush composition.
Anisotropic iron nitride permanent magnets
Disclosed herein is a permanent magnet comprising: a plurality of aligned iron nitride nanoparticles wherein the iron nitride nanoparticles include α″-Fe.sub.16N.sub.2 phase domains; wherein a ratio of integrated intensities of an α″-Fe.sub.16N.sub.2 (004) x-ray diffraction peak to an α″-α″-Fe.sub.16N.sub.2 (202) x-ray diffraction peak for the aligned iron nitride nanoparticles is greater than at least 7%, wherein the diffraction vector is parallel to alignment direction, and wherein the iron nitride nanoparticles exhibit a squareness measured parallel to the alignment direction that is greater than a squareness measured perpendicular to the alignment direction.

STRETCHABLE SENSOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME AND WEARABLE DEVICE
A stretchable sensor includes a stretchable layer including an elastomer, and a conductive layer at least partially buried in the stretchable layer and including a conductive nanostructure. The stretchable layer includes a plurality of first regions including a ferromagnetic material buried in the elastomer, and a second region excluding the plurality of first regions.

Magneto-rheological elastomer
A magneto-rheological elastomer that can achieve weight reduction, maintain mechanical properties at an excellent level, and improve magnetic flux density. A magneto-rheological elastomer includes an elastomer base material as a matrix and sendust flakes and spherical sendust powders. The magneto-rheological elastomer is made by mixing the sendust flakes and the spherical sendust powders in the elastomer base material.
