The inductor includes: a coil in which an electric current flows; and a core that the coil is wound around, wherein the core includes a central portion that the coil is wound around; extensions extending from opposite edges of the central portions; and lateral portions extending from the extensions along the circulation path of the magnetic flux and facing the central portion with the coil disposed there between, and a first height at a first position of the extension portions on the circulation path of the magnetic flux spaced away from the edges of the central portion by a first distance which is larger than a second height at a second position on the circulation path of the magnetic spaced away from the edges of the central portion by a second distance which is longer than the first distance.

Transformers with integrated inductors

A transformer-inductor assembly includes a core, a primary winding, and a secondary winding. The primary winding is wrapped about the core. The secondary winding is wrapped about the primary winding. One or more ferromagnetic bars per phase are arranged between the secondary winding and the primary winding to control the inductance to the transformer-inductor assembly secondary winding. An electrical system including the transformer-inductor assembly and method of transforming voltage of alternating current using the transformer-inductor assembly are also described.

TRANSFORMERS WITH INTEGRATED INDUCTORS

A transformer-inductor assembly includes a core, a primary winding, and a secondary winding. The primary winding is wrapped about the core. The secondary winding is wrapped about the primary winding. One or more ferromagnetic bars per phase are arranged between the secondary winding and the primary winding to control the inductance to the transformer-inductor assembly secondary winding. An electrical system including the transformer-inductor assembly and method of transforming voltage of alternating current using the transformer-inductor assembly are also described.

Plate-shaped leakage structure as an insert in a magnetic core

In various aspects, a plate-shaped leakage structure as an insert in a magnetic core of an inductive component, a magnetic core having a plate-shaped leakage structure, and an inductive component. In illustrative embodiments, a plate-shaped leakage structure is provided as an insert in a magnetic core, which is passed through, along the thickness direction thereof, by at least one spacer having a very low magnetic permeability (as opposed to the rest of the material of the leakage structure). In a magnetic core according to an aspect, core legs are arranged above opposite bearing surfaces of the plate-shaped leakage structure, the plate-shaped leakage structure providing a leakage path between the core legs.

The plurality of divided ferrites include a first divided ferrite and a second divided ferrite which form a corner piece and a third divided ferrite and a fourth divided ferrite which form a side piece.

The side core includes protruded portions that protrude towards lateral sides of a T-shaped horizontal portion of the center core, and gaps are provided between the lateral sides of the T-shaped horizontal portion of the center core and the protruded portions of the side core.

An electronic component includes a wire winding wound around a central axis. The wire winding having first and second ends, and first and second terminals are connected to or formed by the first and second ends. The terminals provide electrical contacts for connecting the component into a circuit. The component has a wet press molded body made of a mixture of magnetic and non-magnetic material that is heated and pressed about the wire winding. The wet press molded body leaves at least a portion of the terminals exposed for mounting the component to the circuit.
