Blood Infusion System for Controlling Concentration of Calcium in Blood Infusate
20220288308 · 2022-09-15 ·

An infusion pump system is operable to deliver blood to a patient from a first fluid reservoir via a first pump while mixing in a calcium-containing solution from a second fluid reservoir via a second pump. The controller precisely controls the amount of calcium-containing solution that is administered to the patient to be mixed with the blood infusate in the patient's bloodstream according to a preset blood-calcium ratio, thereby preventing citrate intoxication during large blood transfusions.

INFUSION SYSTEM AND COMPONENTS THEREOF

Certain embodiments provide multi-medicament infusion systems for preventing the cross-channeling of medicaments. The system may include one or more of an infusion pump, medicament cartridges, cartridge connectors, a multi-channel fluid conduit, and an infusion set. The infusion pump can have an inductively chargeable battery assembly that can be charged by an inductive charging pad.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING BIOMATERIALS

Delivery systems and methods for forming and delivering biomaterials from two components are described herein. In particular, apparatus and methods for performing controlled delivery of multicomponent delivery of biomaterials into or onto a body part, such as a body lumen are described. More specifically, in some embodiments, the apparatus and methods are directed towards controlled delivery of micro-volumes of biomaterials into or onto a target location, the micro-volumes being defined as 0.001 mL-1 mL (or 1 μL-1,000 μL) of volume.

CONTROL RODS FOR LIGHT WATER REACTORS

A control rod for a nuclear fuel assembly is described herein that includes a neutron absorbing material having a melting point greater than 1500° C. that does not form a eutectic with a melting point less than 1500° C., and may further include a cladding material having a melting point greater than 1500° C. The cladding material is selected from the group consisting of silicon carbide, zirconium, a zirconium alloy, tungsten, and molybdenum. The absorbing material is selected from the group consisting of Gd.sub.2O.sub.3, Ir, B.sub.4C, Re, and Hf. The metal cladding or the absorbing material may be coated with an anti-oxidation coating of Cr with or without a Nb intermediate layer.

Fluid Injector with Syringe Engagement Mechanism

An engagement mechanism associated with a reciprocally movable piston of a fluid injector is configured for releasably engaging an engagement portion at a proximal end of a rolling diaphragm syringe having a flexible sidewall configured for rolling upon itself when acted upon by the piston. The engagement mechanism has a plurality of engagement elements reversibly and radially movable relative to the engagement portion of the syringe between a first position, where the plurality of engagement elements are disengaged from the engagement portion of the syringe, and a second position, where the plurality of engagement elements are engaged with the engagement portion of the syringe. The engagement mechanism further has a drive mechanism for moving the plurality of engagement elements between the first position and the second position.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GUIDED RELAY DELIVERY OF MEDICATION

Guided relay infusion systems and methods are provided. The guided relay system may be a portion of an infusion pump that can simultaneously deliver a medical fluid from two syringes. When a first one of the syringes is running out of the medical fluid and a second one of the syringes is more full of the medical fluid than the first one of the syringes, guided relay messages are provided for a relay handoff from the first one of the syringes to the second one of the syringes that ensures a smooth continuous delivery of more of the medical fluid than the first one of the syringes holds.

Multiport delivery device

A visual indicator of a smart device and a visual indicator of a medication source device may be controlled to produce a same type of visual output based on a communication established between the medication source device and the smart device, The medication source device may be connected to a lumen, the smart device may be configured to be connected to the lumen, and the same type of visual output may be associated with the lumen. A compatibility of a first type of medication delivered or scheduled to be delivered via the lumen to a patient and a second type of medication delivered or scheduled to be delivered via the lumen to the patient may be determined to an indication of whether the second type of medication is compatible for delivery via the same lumen associated with the same type of visual output.

MEDICINE ADMINISTERING DEVICE AND MEDICINE ADMINISTERING SYSTEM

A drug administration device according to the present invention is a drug administration device for subcutaneously administering a drug, and includes a main body portion configured to be arranged on skin of a patient, and a movable portion to which at least one needle member protruding toward the skin is attached. The movable portion is configured to be capable of being moved between a first position that is spaced apart from the skin and a second position that is near the skin. The leading end portion of the needle member is to be inserted into the skin when the movable portion is located at the second position. The drug is to be discharged from a hole provided in the needle member.

Medical pump

A medical pump, comprising: a fluid housing having a plurality of intake openings, sealed by at least one intake valve, and an outlet opening sealed by an outlet valve; a piston which is sealing the fluid housing and connected to a drive mechanism, the drive mechanism pulls the piston to draw fluid from one of the plurality of intake openings and pushes the piston to discharge the fluid into the outlet opening; and a selecting valve enclosing at least two tubes, each providing fluid to one of the plurality of intake openings, wherein the selecting valve closes one of the at least two tubes while opening another of the at least two tubes.
