An optical device includes a movable section including an optical section that deflects video light in accordance with the angle of incidence of the video light incident on a light incident surface and outputs the deflected video light and a holder that supports the optical section, an actuator that rotates the movable section around a first axis, an actuator that rotates the movable section around a second axis, a drive circuit that supplies the actuator with a first drive signal and the actuator with a second drive signal, and a sensor disposed in a position different from the positions on the first and second axes detects the position of the optical section, and the drive circuit adjusts the first and second drive signals in accordance with the position of the optical section detected with the sensor.
Combining electropermanent magnets and magnetorheological fluid to modify an operation of an input device
Aspects of the invention include a computer peripheral device comprising an input element that operates based on a performance characteristic, an electropermanent magnet (EPM) assembly including a permanent magnet configured to generate a magnetic field and a magnetizing assembly configured to set an intensity of the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet, and a magnetorheological (MR) material coupled to the input element. The MR material has a viscosity that changes based on the magnetic field and affects the performance characteristic of the input element.
MAGNETIC ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING OPTICAL EFFECT LAYERS COMPRISING ORIENTED PLATELET-SHAPED MAGNETIC OR MAGNETIZABLE PIGMENT PARTICLES
The invention relates to the field of the protection of security documents such as for example banknotes and identity documents against counterfeit and illegal reproduction. In particular, the present invention provides magnetic assemblies and methods for producing optical effect layers (OELs) on a substrate, said method comprising a step of exposing a coating composition comprising platelet-shaped magnetic or magnetisable pigment particles to the magnetic field of the magnetic assembly so as to bi-axially orient at least a part of the platelet-shaped magnetic or magnetisable pigment particles.
Pole-Piece Structure for a Magnetic Gear
The disclosure provides a pole-piece structure for a magnetic gear, comprising a plurality of laminate plates, wherein each plate comprises one or more apertures and an aperture in each plate aligns with an aperture in an adjacent plate to form one or more channels extending from a first end of the laminate plates to a second, opposite end of the laminate plates, wherein a resin cast is provided within each channel to hold the plurality of laminate plates together.
Bias Magnet and Measurement Device for Measuring Magnetic Properties of The Surroundings of the Measurement Device and Method for Biasing of Magnetic Materials on a Measurement Object
A measuring device according to the invention comprises a sensor line and a pre-magnetizing magnet. The sensor line has at least one sensor and extends in a line direction. The pre-magnetizing magnet has a non-homogeneous magnetization.
Bi-Stable Solenoid With an Intermediate Condition
A bi-stable solenoid includes a housing, a wire coil, a permanent magnet, an armature, a pin, and a spring. The wire coil is arranged within the housing. The armature is slidably arranged within the housing and is moveable between a first armature position and a second armature position. The pin at least partially extends out of the housing and is slidably engaged by the armature. The spring is biased between the armature and the pin. When the pin encounters an intermediate position between a retracted position and an extended position due to the pin engaging an obstruction, the spring is configured to maintain a biasing force on the pin until the obstruction is removed.
DOOR ASSEMBLY FOR MICROWAVE OVEN, AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING SAME
A door assembly includes: a door including a first region; a doorframe connected to the door through a door hinge, the doorframe including a second region, wherein the first region faces the second region when the door is closed; an electromagnet located at one of the first and second regions; a permanent magnet located at the other one of the first and second regions; a distance sensor configured to detect a distance between the door and the doorframe; and a control chip coupled with the distance sensor, the control chip being configured to control a direction of a current in the electromagnet according to the distance detected by the distance sensor.
Magnetic privacy screen
A magnetic privacy screen comprises a privacy screen which has a front and back side. The privacy screen functions to reduce the visible angle of an electronic display. One or more magnetic components are in communication with the privacy screen. A plurality of magnets disposed within the electronic display releasably engage with the magnetic component of the privacy screen, retaining the privacy screen on the electronic display.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING A PLURALITY OF MAGNET MODULES
An example electronic device includes a battery, a coil antenna that transmits power of the battery, a shield disposed on a lower surface of the coil antenna, and a plurality of magnet modules formed to surround at least a portion of a side surface of the coil antenna. Each of the plurality of magnet modules includes an inner part that faces toward the side surface of the coil antenna, an outer part that faces toward an opposite side to the coil antenna, and a non-magnetized area disposed between the inner part and the outer part. The inner part includes a first inner area and a second inner area over the first inner area, and the outer part includes a first outer area and a second outer area over the first outer area. The first inner area and the second outer area are magnetized with a first polarity, and the second inner area and the first outer area are magnetized with a second polarity opposite to the first polarity.
Removable fluid barrier
A removable fluid barrier comprises a generally planar flexible body fabricated of at least one resilient material and encapsulating a plurality of permanent magnets. The flexible body has an outer face defining a sealing surface of the removable fluid barrier.
