An intravenous line organizing system to be attached to patients to organize one or several IV lines, preventing entanglement and contamination by dragging on the floor, while allowing patient mobility. The hypoallergenic device can be strapped with a band around a patient's limb or torso, or adhered to the skin anywhere on the body. Each clip element allows one IV line to float freely through it. Each clip element rotates 360 and can move horizontally within a channel in the system, or it can be pushed into a locked position, preventing rotation and horizontal movement.

Clamp for retaining an IV tube

A clamp for retaining an IV tube having a pair of clamp sections configured to be selectively secured together. Each clamp section includes a semi-cylindrical surface, and the semi-cylindrical surfaces are positioned to mirror one another when the clamp sections are secured together to frictionally engage around the IV tube. Each clamp section has a finger grip on an outer surface which is positioned on an opposite side of the clamp section from the semi-cylindrical surface. Each finger grip also has an arched surface which includes a medial portion positioned between each end of the finger grips, and at least one end of the finger grip flares away from the semi-cylindrical surface. The finger grip can have a finger shield which extends laterally beyond the semi-cylindrical surface. At least one of the finger grips may be symmetrical.

A tubing management apparatus that is operable to provide management of a medical tube. The tubing management apparatus includes a cord having a coiling device coupled to the first end of the cord and a clip secured to the second end of the cord. A plurality of couplers are slidably coupled to the cord intermediate the first end and second end. The plurality of couplers include a body having an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion of the body is configured to be slidably secured to the cord. The upper portion of the body of each of the plurality of couplers has an embedded magnet so as to assist in maintaining the couplers adjacent to each other. The lower portion of the body of the plurality of couplers includes various alternative embodiments that are configured to receive and retain a portion of a tube.

Methods and apparatus for securing a medical or surgical line with respect to a patient are described. In particular, a fastener is described comprising an elongate braided tubular sleeve for receiving the line therethrough, the sleeve having a first end for fixing adjacent to the patient, in use, and a second end for arranging, in use, proximal to medical equipment coupled to the line. The fastener also includes a first substantially rigid collar coupled to the sleeve at the first end of the sleeve and a second substantially rigid collar coupled to the sleeve at the second end of the sleeve. An enlarged flange is provided, secured to the first collar at the first end of the sleeve and an adhesive plaster for securing the fastener with respect to a patient is provided, the adhesive plaster being secured to the enlarged flange. In one embodiment, the adhesive plaster having an area of at least 5 cm.sup.2. In addition, or in an alternative embodiment, the longitudinal axis of the elongate braided tubular sleeve is arranged parallel to the plane of the adhesive plaster.

Two-shot tube retention fastener molding method

A mold and molding process for a first shot body member includes a pair of side walls, a semi-circular sleeve positioned between the pair of side walls to define a portion of a longitudinal pocket, and a pair of deflecting wings. Each deflecting wing is coupled to one of the side walls at a corner. A second shot isolation member of an elastically resilient second material is bonded to portions of an interior surface of the longitudinal pocket defined by each of: the semi-circular sleeve, each of the pair of side walls, each of the pair of corners, and each of the pair of wings. Mold members can include supporting surfaces to support interior and exterior portions of the wing during the second shot molding operation, while leaving an exposed interior bonding surface that defines a portion of the second shot molding cavity.

Apparatus for securely and gently holding a flexible elongated medical device

A clip for holding a flexible elongated medical device. In embodiments, the clip has a hinge; first and second jaws movable with respect to each other about the hinge from a closed position to an open position, each of the jaws having a contact surface, the contact surface of the first jaw being disposed against the contact surface of the second jaw when the clip is in the closed position and away from the contact surface of the second jaw when the clip is in the open position; and flexible material disposed on at least one of the jaws, the flexible material comprising the contact surface. The invention also includes methods of holding a flexible elongated medical device.

Infusion set improvements

A method and device for adjusting the unstored length of tubing directed to improving the use of infusion sets that deliver fluids to a user. The device includes a storage module and other features for adjusting, storing and securing the length of the tubing. The method of adjusting the length of the tubing to a desired length typically comprises removably attaching the tubing to the adjuster, adjusting the tubing by wrapping the tubing around a hub or post of the adjuster, and fixing the length of the unstored tubing by attaching the tubing to a securing device such as a friction structure or fastener.
