SENSOR MEASUREMENT VALUE CALIBRATION USING SENSOR CALIBRATION DATA AND A PERFORMANCE MODEL

Techniques disclosed herein relate to determining a calibrated measurement value indicative of a physiological condition of a patient using sensor calibration data and a performance model. In some embodiments, the techniques involve obtaining one or more electrical signals from a sensing element of a sensing arrangement, where the one or more electrical signals are influenced by a physiological condition in a body of a patient. The techniques also involve obtaining calibration data associated with the sensing element from a data storage element of the sensing arrangement, converting the one or more electrical signals into one or more calibrated measurement parameters using the calibration data, obtaining a performance model associated with the sensing element, obtaining personal data associated with the patient, and determining, using the performance model and based on the personal data and the one or more calibrated measurement parameters, a calibrated output value indicative of the physiological condition.

A system comprises a syringe pump and a special designed syringe. The syringe pump includes a housing with a flange holder for receiving a flange of the syringe barrel, an electrical motor disposed inside the housing, a plurality of gears driven by the electrical motor, a leadscrew connected to the plurality of gears, and a cage housing for housing the leadscrew and for holding at least partially the plunger. The flange of the plunger inserts into the flange holder, the leadscrew engages the plunger and moves the plunger in and out of the syringe.

Patient care system for critical medications

A patient care system has a medical pump for delivering a medicine to a patient, and a processor in communication with the pump. The pump is configured to receive a first input on whether the medicine is a critical medicine, and a second input on a trigger condition that triggers a fail-operate mode for the critical medicine. The processor controls the medical pump to operate in the fail-operate mode, where the fail-operate mode continues delivery of the critical medicine when the trigger condition is triggered.

AUTOMATIC DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH TYPE-2 DIABETES

Disclosed are a system, a device, processes, techniques and computer-readable media that set an insulin adjustment factor that is applied to a dose of a therapeutic exogenous substance. The adjustment factor accounts for production of endogenous insulin related to the therapeutic exogenous substance. A processor of an automatic drug delivery device may determine and administer the doses of the therapeutic exogenous substance according to a process in which an amount of a therapeutic exogenous substance to deliver is estimated. An insulin adjustment factor utilizing an estimated relative therapeutic exogenous substance concentration may be determined. The processor may calculate a compensating dose of the therapeutic exogenous substance based on the estimated amount of the therapeutic exogenous substance to deliver that is modified by the insulin adjustment factor. The compensating dose of the therapeutic exogenous substance may be expelled from a reservoir by a pump mechanism.

A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.

Insulin management

A method of administering insulin includes receiving glucose measurements of a patient at a data processing device from a continuous glucose monitoring system. The glucose measurements are separated by a time interval. The method also includes receiving patient information at the data processing device and selecting a subcutaneous insulin treatment from a collection of subcutaneous insulin treatments. The selection is based on the glucose measurements and the patient information. The selection includes one or more of a subcutaneous standard program, a subcutaneous program without meal boluses, a meal-by-meal subcutaneous program without carbohydrate counting, a meal-by-meal subcutaneous program with carbohydrate counting, and a subcutaneous program for non-diabetic patients. The method also includes executing, using the data processing device, the selected subcutaneous insulin treatment.

Infusion systems and methods for prospective closed-loop adjustments

Infusion systems, infusion devices, and related operating methods are provided. An exemplary method of operating an infusion device capable of delivering fluid to a patient involves predicting, by a control system associated with the infusion device, a future occurrence of an event based at least in part on historical data associated with the patient, and prior to the future occurrence of the event, automatically adjusting a control parameter for operating the infusion device based at least in part on the event and automatically operating an actuation arrangement of the infusion device to deliver the fluid to the patient based at least in part on a current measurement of the physiological condition and the adjusted control parameter.

MAINTAINING CLINICAL MESSAGING DURING NETWORK INSTABILITY

Various techniques for facilitating communication with and across a clinical environment and a cloud environment are described. For example, a method for providing messaging in a clinical environment during a temporary network interruption is described. A connectivity adapter may keep the messages in the queue despite the temporary network interruption. As long as the network connection is restored before the messages become stale, the connectivity adapter may be able to transmit the messages in the queue despite the network interruption.

INSULIN PUMP INFUSION CONTROL METHOD

An insulin pump bolus infusion control method. A control module of a pump body controls the pump body to start a bolus infusion control mode after receiving a function starting signal; in the bolus infusion control mode, a bolus key of a control terminal or a bolus key of an insulin pump body sends an infusion dosage signal to the control module by means of one or more operations; if the control module receives a confirmation signal within a predetermined period of time, then the control module controls the pump body to start bolus infusion; and if the control module receives a cancellation signal or does not receive the confirmation signal within a predetermined period of time, then the control module controls the pump body to exit the bolus infusion mode. Using the method enables an insulin pump to execute a more reasonable control when carrying out the bolus infusion, i.e., starting, setting and implementation of the bolus infusion, and enables a simple and quick operation.
