TECHNIQUES FOR MANAGING FLUID DELIVERY DEVICE OPERATING MODE TRANSITIONS
20230201451 · 2023-06-29 ·

Techniques disclosed herein relate to managing transitions into fluid delivery device operating modes. In some embodiments, the techniques involve obtaining status information pertaining to operation of a fluid delivery device, the status information including fluid delivery data, exiting a closed-loop operating mode of the fluid delivery device based on the status information, and, after exiting the closed-loop operating mode, causing generation of a user notification recommending a remedial action to improve viability of a subsequent instance of the closed-loop operating mode. The closed-loop operating mode is an operating mode in which dosage commands are automatically generated based on sensor measurement data.

CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL OF INSULIN INFUSION
20170368258 · 2017-12-28 ·

Disclosed herein are devices, methods and systems for monitoring and detection of adverse events in a subject. In an embodiment, an insulin delivery device includes an insulin injection device in communication with a controller for controlling the insulin injection device. The controller is configured to receive a heart signal from one or more heart sensors, and a blood glucose signal from one or more blood glucose sensors. The controller is further configured to analyze changes in the heart rhythm of the subject based on the heart signal and determine, based on the changes in the heart rhythm and the blood glucose signal, whether the subject is and/or will be experiencing an adverse event. Upon determination that the subject is or will be experiencing an adverse event, the controller determines one or more parameters of delivery of insulin to be delivered to the subject. Finally, the controller is configured to control the injection device to deliver insulin to the subject in accordance with the determined one or more parameters of delivery.

Systems and methods to reduce fluid contamination

Methods and systems for determining the concentration of one or more analytes from a sample such as blood or plasma are described. The systems described herein can be configured to withdraw a certain volume of sample from a source of bodily fluid, direct a first portion of the withdrawn sample to an analyte monitoring system and return a second portion of the sample to the patient. The analyte monitoring system can include an automated blood withdrawal system that is configured to withdraw blood from the patient's vasculature at low pressure and/or withdrawal rates so as to reduce or prevent contamination of the withdrawn fluid from the infusion fluids.

Data modification for predictive operations and devices incorporating same

Infusion systems, infusion devices, and related operating methods are provided. An exemplary method of operating an infusion device capable of delivering fluid to a user involves obtaining a sequence of measurements indicative of a condition of the user that is influenced by the fluid and modifying one or more unusable measurements in the sequence using one or more other usable measurements in the sequence to obtain a modified sequence of measurements. The method continues by determining a predicted value for the condition of the user at a time in the future based at least in part on the modified sequence of measurements and operating the infusion device in a manner that is influenced by the predicted value.

A Housing for an infusion pump cartridge adapted to enclose a glass vessel having an open proximal end closed by a slidable piston and a distal end provided with a neck is provided. The housing is made of plastic. The proximal end is provided with a pair of bayonet fitting formations integrally formed on the housing and adapted to enable the cartridge to be fastened to an infusion pump and with connection means adapted to be arranged at the distal end of the vessel for connection to an infusion set. The housing consists of a cylindrical base part, which is provided with an inner flange for abutment of the vessel and on which the fitting formations are formed, and a neck part that can be fastened to the base part by means of snap fitting formations for retaining the glass vessel between the base part and the neck part.

Infusion systems and methods for patient activity adjustments

Infusion systems, infusion devices, and related operating methods are provided. An exemplary method of operating an infusion device capable of delivering fluid to a patient involves obtaining, by a control system associated with the infusion device, user input indicating an activity by the patient, obtaining historical data for the patient corresponding to the activity, determining a probable patient response corresponding to the activity based at least in part on the historical data for the patient, determining an adjustment for delivering the fluid by the infusion device based at least in part on the probable patient response, and operating the infusion device to deliver the fluid to the patient in accordance with the adjustment.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ASSESSING FLUID RESPONSIVENESS USING MULTIMODAL DATA

A system (100) for assessing fluid responsiveness includes an infusion pump (24) in communication with at least one processor (32), and a plurality of physiological monitors (40,42,44,46) operable to receive physiological signals from an associated patient. Physiological signals (48,50) acquired from the associated patient (10) during a fluid challenge are synchronized with a timing signal (54) of the infusion pump (24) administering the fluid challenge.
