The disclosed antimicrobial device securely attaches to an underlying substrate such that the insertion needle can puncture though the antimicrobial device for easy application and antimicrobial protection of the insertion needle. The antimicrobial device comprises a contact dressing with a contact dressing first surface and contact dressing second surface, opposite the contact dressing first surface. The contact dressing first surface has an adhesive and an antimicrobial agent. The insertion needle is inserted through the contact dressing. The adhesive and antimicrobial agent are on the contact dressing first surface adjacent the inserted insertion needle.

Adhesive and Peripheral Systems and Methods for Medical Devices

A repeater system may control a pump by using a repeater and a user interface. An adhesive patch system may be used for affixing a pump or other object to a human body. Such an adhesive patch system may include two sets of adhesive members, each member including an adhesive material on at least one side so as to attach to the body. The members of the first set are spaced to allow the members of the second set to attach to the body in spaces provided between the members of the first set, and the members of the second set are spaced to allow members of the first set to detach from the body without detaching the members of the second set. Also, fill stations and base stations are provided for personal pump systems.

INFUSION DEVICE WITH STABILIZER MEMBER

An infusion device system includes a base (12) for removably coupling to a delivery device, a needle hub (22) supporting an insertion needle (20) and a catheter (18) for delivering a substance to a patient. The infusion device includes a needle shield (24) for covering the insertion needle (20) after inserting the catheter (18) into the patient. The needle hub (22) includes a least one leg (70) extending from the needle shield (24) to stabilize the needle shield (24) and needle hub (12) relative to the base. In one embodiment, the legs (70) can include a latching tab (74) to couple to the needle hub (22) to resist separation of the needle hub from the base (12) until the legs are deflected outward to release the needle hub (22).

An auto-retractable blood collection needle, including: a needle holder including a first tube, a second tube and a holder tail; a needle in stalled in the first tube; a built-in sliding sleeve which is elongated and through and has a C-shaped cross section; a needle shield which is hollow and elongated; and a spring sheathed on the first tube. The second tube is installed in the built-in sliding sleeve and is capable of sliding back and forth. The built-in sliding sleeve is installed in the needle shield and is capable of sliding back and forth. A locking mechanism is formed by the holder tail and the needle shield. When the holder tail is unlocked from the needle shield, a force of the spring pushes the second tube to slide backward, and then the built-in sliding sleeve is driven to slide rearward to lock with the needle shield.

Medical device with overmolded adhesive patch and method for making same

An adhesive patch is secured to an infusion set, patch pump or other on-body medical device by an overmolding process during manufacture of the medical device, or during manufacture of a portion of the medical device, without the need for a separate adhesive. This provides a more secure connection between the patch and the medical device, and reduces the required number of adhesive layers from two (skin attachment side and device attachment side) to one (skin attachment side only), thereby simplifying the design and manufacture of the patch.
