The present teachings provide for a device with a membrane and an underlying switch, an underlying switch actuator, or both that has a unique tactile pattern that is felt through the membrane when the membrane is aligned with the switch, switch actuator, or both, corresponding to the electrical state of the device. The membrane, the switch, the switch actuator or a combination thereof can be repositioned from a first position to a second position so that a different tactile feel is present through the membrane corresponding to a second electrical state.

Actuator assembly for electrical switches housed in an enclosure

An actuator assembly for actuating an electrical switch housed in sealed electrical enclosure is disclosed. The actuator assembly includes a handle assembly including a handle positioned on an exterior of a cover of the sealed enclosure, a trip bracket positioned within the sealed enclosure and a shaft connecting the handle to the trip bracket. A slider actuator is slidably mounted over an electrical switch positioned within the enclosure and operatively associated with or coupled to a toggle of the electrical switch. The slider actuator has a drive link which is adapted to engage the trip bracket such that rotation of the handle activates the drive link which causes linear movement of the slider actuator to move the electrical switch between on and off positions. The use of the slider actuator allows a higher density of electrical switches to be stacked within the sealed enclosure.

Knob assembly

A knob assembly includes a first housing with a sidewall extending from a base and a retention member inwardly extends from the sidewall. An operable second housing includes a selective stopper selectively movable between a first position and a second position relative to the retention member. The operable second housing is further axially operable between a compressed position and an extended position relative to the first housing, and the operable second housing includes a biasing member.

Switch having a first part and a second part. The switch is configured to activate in response to a switch sequence including activation of the first part followed by activation of the second part. One of the first and second parts includes a touch sensor and is configured to activate in response to a first switching method in which a user moves a digit along a predetermined digit path over the touch sensor. The other of the first and second parts is activatable in response to a second switching method different from the first switching method.

Hand held rotary power tool

A power tool includes a motor and a power supply that are connected by a switch disposed in an electrical circuit. The switch controls the on/off state of the motor and is actuated by a switch actuator that serves as a spring element. The switch actuator includes a guide plate supported on the housing, and a resilient arm that protrudes from the guide plate into an opening in the tool housing. When the switch actuator is in a first actuator position relative to the housing, the resilient arm is biased toward an edge of the opening and engages the edge, thereby preventing inadvertent movement of the switch actuator to the second actuator position. When the switch actuator is actuated by applying a bi-directional manual force to the resilient arm, the resilient arm is displaced from the edge, thereby permitting movement of the switch actuator to the second actuator position.

VEHICLE OPERATION DEVICE

A rotary knob that rotates in a pushed state includes an extending portion extending in a rotation direction of the rotary knob, and the extending portion includes a cutout portion cut out so as to prevent a first switch that detects that the rotary knob is pushed in from being pressed in a case where the rotary knob is in an intermediate range in which the rotary knob is in a pushed state.

The disclosure provides a switch assembly and a power tool. The switch assembly includes a housing which extends along the longitudinal axis, a main control switch which is housed within the housing, a locking switch which is slidably connected with the housing and can move between a locking position and a releasing position, and a start switch which is rotably connected with the housing by a pivot. The locking switch is in contact with the start switch when the locking switch is in the locking position, and the start switch is in a locked state. The locking switch is disengaged from the start switch when the locking switch is in the releasing position, and the start switch is in a released state.
