TERMINAL CLAMP COVER DEVICE FOR LOW VOLTAGE CIRCUIT BREAKERS
20210035761 · 2021-02-04 ·

A terminal clamp cover device for low voltage circuit breakers, in particular for molded case circuit breakers, having one or more phases, each provided with a terminal for the electrical connection of the circuit breaker, a clamp for the connection of the terminal to an electrical circuit and a vent opening to discharge the gases produced in the circuit breaker during opening/closing operations. The device includes an insulating body that covers the clamp, the insulating body being provided on at least one portion of its outer surface with a plurality of heat dissipating elements. A low voltage circuit breaker, in particular a low voltage molded case circuit breaker, including a device of the type described also forms part of the application.

CIRCUIT BREAKER HOUSING

A circuit breaker housing for holding a switching device unit and a number of connection contacts for a connection line and/or a busbar. The housing has a first housing part and a second housing part. In the joined, assembled state, the housing parts form a front side and a rear side opposite said front side and at least one connection side and end faces located opposite one another. A holding chamber for a connection module having one of the connection contacts is provided on the front side and/or on at least one of the connection sides.

FUSE CUTOUT COVER WITH SPACER FOR LOADBREAK TOOL
20200395184 · 2020-12-17 ·

A fuse cutout cover is disclosed that allows a lineman to engage a metal hook assembly and pull ring of the cutout with a loadbreak tool. The cutout also includes a wire connector and a metal top connector that leads from the wire connector to the top of the fuse. A front opening in the cover allows easy access by a loadbreak tool over a wide range of angles. A roof of the cover extends beyond the sidewalls of the opening and covers an end of the top connector. An inner vertical wall of the cover has a bottom edge that rests on the top surface of the top connector to space the roof from the top connector to provide additional vertical clearance when positioning the loadbreak tool to engage the cutout. The wall also blocks access to the enlarged open to prevent birds from nesting in the opening.

Barrier usable with electrical interruption device and structured to resist the insertion of probe having known dimensions

A barrier includes a cover and an attachment apparatus and is usable with an electrical interruption device. The attachment apparatus includes a number of attachment structures that are situated on the cover and that are each structured to be engaged with at least one of the housing of the electrical interruption device and a number of terminal assemblies of the electrical interruption device. The cover is configured to overlie at least a portion of the electrical interruption device and to resist the entry of a probe of known dimensions into electrical contact with components that are electrified even when the electrical interruption device is in an OFF condition.

HAZARDOUS LOCATION COMPLIANT CIRCUIT PROTECTION DEVICES HAVING ENHANCED SAFETY INTELLIGENCE, SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Compliant electrical circuit protection devices are described for use in hazardous environments without presenting ignition risks for potentially explosive environmental conditions. Sensing features and systems may evaluate wiring limits and user selected settings for compatibility, detect loose connections and operating parameters to ensure safe operation of the device, and to intelligently diagnose and manage issues of concern for the circuit protection devices as well as the larger electrical power system.

CIRCUIT PROTECTION DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EXPLOSIVE ENVIRONMENT COMPLIANCE

Solid state and hybrid circuit protection devices include improved chemical, static discharge and impact resistant housing construction, arc-free switching operation, secure terminal assemblies and thermal management features. The solid state and hybrid circuit protection devices are ignition protected and avoid possible explosions and therefore obviate a need for conventional explosion-proof enclosures to ensure safe operation of an electrical power system in a potentially explosive environment.
