ELECTRICAL DEVICE HAVING A MAINTAINED ON OFF SWITCH
An electrical device, such as a flashlight includes an on-off switch that is movable between a maintained actuated position and a maintained unactuated position. The device comprises a body containing an electrical assembly that includes a power source, a switch, and an actuated member, such as a light. The switch includes a first conductor attachable to a first terminal of the power source and the switch member coupled to a second terminal of the power source. The switch member includes a switch portion that has a generally sheet-like portion that is disposed adjacent to the second terminal of the power source. The sheet-like portion includes a deformable central portion surrounded by a retained perimeter. The deformable portion is movable between a maintainable actuated position wherein it contacts the second terminal of the power source, and a maintained unactuated position wherein it is spatially separated from, and not in contact with, the second terminal of power source.
SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND ELECTRIC DRILL
The disclosure provides a switch assembly and an electric drill. The switch assembly includes a first switch, a button, and a locking mechanism. The button is provided with a pressing part that cooperates with the first switch, so as to trigger the first switch when the button is pressed. The locking mechanism includes a locking member for locking the button and a trigger pivotally mounted and matched with the locking member. When the locking mechanism is locked, the locking member resists the button, so that the button cannot be pressed. When the trigger is rotated, the trigger drives the locking member to move, so that the locking member is misaligned with the button, and the button can be pressed at this time.
Locking system for use with a trigger assembly of an electrical device
A trigger assembly having: a housing with a switch; a trigger; an actuator movable from OFF wherein the switch is operably-opened, towards ON wherein the switch is operably-closed; a lock-on mechanism including a first locking member mounted proximate the trigger and a second locking member mounted proximate the housing; when the actuator is ON, said locking members are movable relative to each other into a locked configuration; a lock-off mechanism including a lock-off member that is movable about a rotation axis between locked-off-position, which restricts movement of the trigger and the actuator is restricted from movement, and non-locked-off-position, which does not restrict movement of the trigger and the actuator member is not restricted from movement; and a shaped-portion disposed proximate the housing that abuts the lock-off member when the trigger is moved towards the housing with the lock-off member in the locked-off-position, whereby the actuator is restricted from movement.

FORCE SWITCH
A method of adjusting a switch of a device, wherein the method comprises using a biasing force-adjusting element to adjust a magnitude of a biasing force that is imparted to a switching element of the switch by a biasing element that is disposed about the switching element. The biasing force places the switching element in one of a first position and a second position, wherein the first position corresponds to a first electrical state and the second position corresponds to a second electrical state.

TRIGGER APPARATUS FOR POWERED DEVICE, POWERED DEVICE, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING AN OPERATION OF A POWERED DEVICE
A trigger apparatus for a powered device, such as a power tool is disclosed. The powered device comprises a trigger operable by a user to move from a first position to at least one second position so as to control an operation of the powered device. The trigger apparatus comprises: a linear Hall effect sensor for measuring a change in a magnetic field associated with the trigger being moved from the first position to the at least one second position, and configured to generate a sensor signal based on the measured magnetic field, for controlling the operation of the powered device; a power module configured to power, the linear Hall effect sensor, upon reception of an activation signal for indicating that the trigger apparatus is to be activated; and an activation switch configured to generate the activation signal, when the trigger is moved from the first position. A powered device comprising the trigger apparatus and a method of controlling an operation of a powered device are also disclosed.

HAND HELD ROTARY POWER TOOL
A power tool includes a motor and a power supply that are connected by a switch disposed in an electrical circuit. The switch controls the on/off state of the motor and is actuated by a switch actuator that serves as a spring element. The switch actuator includes a guide plate supported on the housing, and a resilient arm that protrudes from the guide plate into an opening in the tool housing. When the switch actuator is in a first actuator position relative to the housing, the resilient arm is biased toward an edge of the opening and engages the edge, thereby preventing inadvertent movement of the switch actuator to the second actuator position. When the switch actuator is actuated by applying a bi-directional manual force to the resilient arm, the resilient arm is displaced from the edge, thereby permitting movement of the switch actuator to the second actuator position.
