Embodiments include needle arrangement for injection, for aspiration, and for biopsy purposes.

AUTOMATIC INJECTOR

An automatic injector dispenses a predetermined dose of medicament without a user having to manually force the needle into an injection site. The automatic injector includes a needle cover having a locked retracted position with respect to the injector housing prior to a medicament dispensing operation. The needle cover is operative to engage an injection site prior to a medicament dispensing operation.

Devices and methods for conduit distention
11701469 · 2023-07-18 ·

Devices and methods are disclosed that provide a syringe actuator device for use in the distention and irrigation of a body conduit before the use in a medical procedure such as a coronary bypass graft procedure. The device can be retrofit to a syringe by attaching it to the cap of the plunger and engaged to automatically apply pressure to fluid in the syringe. In some embodiments, elastic bands attached to the device are easily engaged or removed from a syringe during a procedure to limit the pressure on the syringe to various levels. The device may be overridden by an operator pushing on the plunger of the syringe as in normal syringe operation.

GAP CREATION DEVICE

An apparatus (100) for use with an auto-injector configured to receive a syringe and comprising: a firing assembly (102) comprising a rearward portion (108), a plunger rod (110) moveable forward relative to the rearward portion (108) and a plunger rod driver (112) configured to drive the plunger rod (110) forward relative to the rearward portion (108); an insertion driver (106) configured to drive the syringe forwards on an insertion stroke for inserting a needle of the syringe into an injection site; and wherein the firing assembly (102) further comprises a retainer (114) engaged with the plunger rod (110) and/or the rearward portion (108) and configured to prevent forward movement of the plunger rod (110) relative to the rearward portion (108), and to disengage from the firing assembly (102) at a point on the insertion stroke.

TORQUE-LIMITING DEVICE FOR MANUAL INSERTION OF SYRINGE PLUNGER RODS AND METHODS OF USING SAME

A torque-limiting device comprises a plunger rod holder defining a piston cavity for receiving at least a portion of a plunger rod, a moveable stop element, a dowel disposed adjacent the stop element, a spring disposed adjacent the dowel, and a syringe barrel holder defining a barrel cavity for receiving at least a portion of a syringe barrel.

Injector Device with Distraction Mechanism

This disclosure relates to features of an injection device arranged to provide a sensory distraction to a user during insertion of a needle into flesh. According to a first aspect, an injector device includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, and configured to receive a container of medicament, a needle housing for holding a needle in a position at the distal end of the housing, and a needle sleeve mounted within the housing, wherein the needle sleeve and needle housing are moveable relative to one another by a user action between a first configuration in which the needle sleeve would enclose a needle, and a second configuration in which a needle would extend from the needle sleeve in the distal direction, wherein the needle sleeve comprises a portion configured to vibrate and/or rotate during motion between the first configuration and the second configuration.

AUTOINJECTOR WITH DISCHARGE STOP

An autoinjector having a housing for receiving a product container, a propelling member, a drive for automatically discharging a liquid product, a needle-guard spring for pretensioning a needle-guard sleeve, a grid with a multiplicity of latch elements arranged along the longitudinal direction, and an engagement element which, by engagement in the grid, blocks a discharging movement of the propelling member. A control element of the autoinjector interacts with the engagement element via a control cam such that, when the control element moves in the distal direction by the needle-guard spring, the engagement element is brought into engagement with the grid. Since the force of the needle-guard spring is used for the engagement, the engagement element can be mounted without specific elastic force acting in an engagement direction, and can also be mounted in an articulated manner and/or in a manner limited to pure guidance in the engagement direction.

MEDICAMENT INJECTOR AND INTERCHANGEABLE CARTRIDGES THEREFOR
20230019820 · 2023-01-19 · ·

The present invention relates to a medicament injector including an applicator with a cartridge-accepting receptacle, and interchangeable, pre-filled medicament-containing cartridges. Each cartridge includes a barrier member having a closed position in which access to the medicament is inhibited. The barrier member is movable from the closed position to an open position, in which the medicament is accessible via the applicator for administration, when the cartridge is inserted into the receptacle. The barrier member is moves back to the closed position when the cartridge is automatically removed from the receptacle once the medication is delivered. This allows for plurality of pre-filled medicament cartridges to be selected on demand via a need-based scenario for quick assembly with the medicament injector for use in various clinical scenarios to reduce the bulk, errors, complexity, and steps in medicament delivery while increasing the versatility, safety, and speed of medicament delivery in time critical situations.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING GAS

Devices and methods are provided for delivering gas. In one example, the device includes a syringe body including a proximal end, a distal end including an outlet and a gas chamber communicating with the outlet, and a plunger carrying a piston slidably received within the syringe body. A canister containing a gas is provided within the plunger adjacent a passage through the piston communicating with the gas chamber. A drive actuator is movable to cause an opener pin to open a septum of the canister and release the gas, whereupon the gas travels through the passage into the gas chamber, thereby displacing the piston proximally to fill the gas chamber. Once activated, the plunger may be advanced to deliver the gas within the gas chamber through the outlet into a patient's body, e.g., into an eye via a cannula connected to the outlet.
