The device also includes a needle and a plunger. After activation of the device, the plunger is configured to (i) move the dual-chamber reservoir a given distance in a distal direction with respect to the interior body so that a distal end of the needle extends out of the interior body and (ii) after moving the dual-chamber reservoir the given distance, move in the distal direction with respect to the dual-chamber reservoir so as to eject from the needle the first medicament followed by the second medicament.

Devices, systems and methods for medicament delivery

A method includes moving an actuation lock of a medical injector from a first position to a second position. The actuation lock has an extended portion disposed between a shoulder of a housing and the base when the actuation lock is in the first position. The extended portion is spaced apart from the base when the actuation lock is in the second position. A distal end portion of a base, which is movably coupled to an end portion of the housing, is placed into contact with a body. The base is actuated after the placing to release an energy from an energy storage member within the housing to produce a force to move a needle from a first needle position to a second needle position. At least a portion of the needle extends through the base when the needle is in the second needle position.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

The present disclosure relates to a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. Additionally, a needle guard disposed at the proximal end of the housing and movable in an axial direction relative the housing between a first position and a second position. A storage container, disposed within the housing for storing a drug, includes a needle for administering the drug. The drug delivery device also includes an injection activation button disposed on the distal end of the housing and including a fingerprint detector. Additionally, the present disclosure includes a lock configured to switch between a locked configuration inhibiting actuation of the drug delivery device and an unlocked configuration enabling actuation of the delivery device. The lock is in the unlocked configuration when the needle guard is in the second position and the fingerprint detector detects a fingerprint.

DEVICE FOR INJECTING FIXED QUANTITY OF LIQUID MEDICINE

The present disclosure relates to a drug delivery device, comprising a housing adapted to receive a medicament container, a plunger and a plunger release mechanism, the plunger release mechanism comprising a first plunger boss arranged on the plunger, a profiled slot arranged on the housing and adapted to be engaged by the first plunger boss so as to inhibit movement of the plunger in a distal direction, wherein the plunger is rotatable about a longitudinal axis to release the first plunger boss from the profiled slot so as to allow movement of the plunger in the distal direction, a sleeve coupled to the housing to permit movement of the sleeve relative to the housing, wherein a sleeve ramp is arranged on the sleeve, the sleeve ramp adapted to engage a rib or boss on the plunger to rotate the plunger to release the first plunger boss from the profiled slot when the sleeve is moved in a proximal direction.

Systems and methods for delayed drug delivery
11583633 · 2023-02-21 · ·

Systems and methods for delayed delivery of a drug are disclosed. A drug delivery system may include a delivery member for insertion into a patient and a reservoir configured to receive a volume of a drug. An energy source may be activatable by the patient to actuate the reservoir to deliver the drug to the patient as a single bolus. A lockout system may be configured to have a locked state, wherein the lockout system prevents movement of the delivery member and/or activation of the energy source, and an unlocked state, wherein the lockout system permits movement of the delivery member and/or activation of the energy source. The lockout system may be configured to automatically change from the locked state to the unlocked state after a preselected time period has elapsed. An output element may generate a detectable output after the preselected time period has elapsed for notifying the patient.

Hazardous agent injection system

Injection systems comprising a powered injector and one or more hazardous agents are disclosed.

Liquid medicine administration device and gasket biasing member assembly
11497853 · 2022-11-15 · ·

A liquid medicine administration device includes a prefilled syringe and a gasket biasing member assembly. The biasing member assembly includes: a gasket pressing member configured to press a gasket; a flange attachment member attached to the prefilled syringe; a biasing member housed between the pressing member and the flange attachment member; and an operating member including an engagement holding portion. The pressing member includes an engagement portion to be engaged with the flange attachment member. When the engagement holding portion is located at an abutment position, deformation of a deformable portion is inhibited by abutment between the engagement holding portion and an abutment portion of a deformable portion, and engagement between the engagement portion and the attachment member body portion is held.

SELF-RIGHTING SYSTEMS AND RELATED COMPONENTS AND METHODS

Self-righting articles, such as self-righting capsules for administration to a subject, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may be configured such that the article may orient itself relative to a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). The self-righting articles described herein may comprise one or more tissue engaging surfaces configured to engage (e.g., interface with, inject into, anchor) with a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). In some embodiments, the self-righting article may have a particular shape and/or distribution of density (or mass) which, for example, enables the self-righting behavior of the article. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may comprise a tissue interfacing component and/or a pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery of the active pharmaceutical agent to a location internal of the subject). In some cases, upon contact of the tissue with the tissue engaging surface of the article, the self-righting article may be configured to release one or more tissue interfacing components. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component is associated with a self-actuating component. For example, the self-righting article may comprise a self-actuating component configured, upon exposure to a fluid, to release the tissue interfacing component from the self-righting article. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component may comprise and/or be associated with the pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery to a location internal to a subject).
