Contact arm shields, shielded contact arm assemblies, and contact arm protection methods

An arc shield apparatus for an electrical switching device. Arc shield apparatus includes a body having an abutting portion including a first side configured to abut against a lateral side of a contact arm of an electrical switching device, and a second side opposite from the first side, an aperture passing between the first and second side, the aperture configured to receive a spring tab of the contact arm therein, and an arc shield including a first shield portion extending from the first abutting portion, the first shield portion including a first contact surface configured to abut against a contact arm edge, and a second shield portion configured to shield at least some of the spring tab and spring hook. Shielded contact arm assemblies and methods of protecting a contact arm of an electrical switching device during an arcing event, are disclosed, as are other aspects.

Circuit breaker including end covers

A circuit breaker includes an electrically insulative case including a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The circuit breaker further includes an end cover selectively installable on both the first and second ends of the electrically insulative case. The end cover includes a wall defining at least one opening for receiving a removable shield, a first end connectable to the electrically insulative case first end, and a second end connectable to the electrically insulative case second end.

Multipolar power contactor
09799471 · 2017-10-24 · ·

Disclosed is multipolar power contactor with an electromagnetic drive having an armature, and at least two movable contacts arranged next to one another and connected to the armature. The armature is movable from an open position, where the movable contacts and the fixed contacts are not in contact with one another, into a closed position where the movable contacts come into contact with the fixed contacts. Each movable contact and a corresponding fixed contact, is assigned an arc quenching device, and a plasma barrier having a first and a second barrier is provided between the two movable contacts, whereby one of the two barriers is connected to the armature and the other of the two barriers to a stationary part of the power contactor. The first and the second barrier overlap with one another at least partially in each position of the armature between the open and the closed positions.

Temperature-dependent switch

In a temperature-dependent switch having a switching mechanism that has a movable contact part which cooperates with a stationary counter contact and is moved by a spring part to which the movable contact part is electrically conductively connected, the switching mechanism produces an electrically conductive connection between the stationary counter contact and a second counter contact in a temperature-dependent manner. The switch is provided with an arc-shielding plate, which has no mechanical function, is arranged on an upper surface of the spring part and covers sections thereof.

Non-electrical device for replacing a current sensor in an arc-extinguishing chamber of a switch-disconnector, and a switch-disconnector comprising such a non-electrical device

A non-electrical device (40) includes first and second half-housings which are produced in a plastic material, are joined fixedly to one another, define an axis along which a passage for an electrical conductor passes through the first and second half-housings, and delimit between them an internal volume, which is separated from the passage and which surrounds the passage all around the axis. The first half-housing incorporates, by moulding, mechanical reinforcing elements which extend substantially parallel to the axis in the internal volume until they are in contact with the second half-housing.

Safety switch with fool-proof function and toaster

A safety switch with fool-proof function and a toaster with the same are provided. The switch includes two pairs of first contacts connected to a live wire, a pair of second contacts connected to a zero line, and a trigger structure. The two pairs of first contacts are connected in series in a power circuit. A trigger gap is formed between the first contacts and the second contacts. The trigger structure is movable up and down to drive a pressing part out of and into the trigger gap. When the pressing part enters the trigger gap, the two pairs of first contacts are electrically connected respectively. Thus, the power circuit can be effectively turned off through the switch, thereby improving the safety performance. Moreover, the switch adopts a mechanical contact structure, which is not affected by high temperature and other electromagnetic interference signals, and has high safety.
