Portable Drug Mixing and Delivery Device and Associated Methods
A portable auto-injector configured to store a liquid component in a first chamber separately from a dry medication in a second chamber, wherein a first actuation mechanism opens a valve allowing for the initiation of a mixing step prior to injection. The first chamber and second chamber are independent and movable with respect to one another. An extendable needle guard is provided over the delivery assembly which prevents premature injection as well as inadvertent sticks or other cross contamination of a needle. The needle guard can also form part of a secondary trigger mechanism which injects the mixed components after the mixing stage is complete.
Auto-injector
Provided is a cassette unit suitable for use with an auto-injector having an electrically powered drive unit. The cassette unit comprises a cassette unit housing defining a cassette unit housing cavity, a rearward entrance to said cavity and a forward needle projection aperture. The housing cavity may receive a syringe comprising a barrel; a needle at a front end of the barrel; and a plunger that is axially movable within the barrel. The cassette unit also comprises in capping relationship with the rearward entrance of the cassette unit housing, a cassette unit end-cap, said cassette unit end-cap defining a drive rod-receiving opening for receipt of a drive rod for providing forward axial drive to said plunger; and a biasing element defining a biasing relationship between the cassette unit end-cap and an end flange of the syringe barrel, thereby urging the syringe forwards in relation to the cassette unit end cap.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTIC AGENTS
Methods and apparatus for the reproducible, consistent and efficacious delivery of a therapeutic agent to a patient. The invention comprises means for the controlled administration of the therapeutic agent through an orifice to the patient, a plurality of penetrating electrodes arranged with a predetermined spatial relationship relative to the orifice, and means for generating an electrical signal operatively connected to the electrodes.
Device, Delivery System, And Method For Ocular Therapy
Devices and methods for the ab interno delivery of two or more fluid compositions into Schlemm's canal through a single insertion point in the eye with minimal trauma. The hand-held delivery device includes a handle coupled to an elongated shaft that terminates in a self-trephinating tip through which one or more cannulae are slidably disposed and can be extended or retracted therethrough. The handle further defines a chamber for receiving one or more cartridges each containing at least one fluid composition. Each cartridge is fluidly connected to a respective cannula such that sequential actuation of each cartridge causes dispensation of the fluid compositions at the site for delivery without having to repeatedly enter the target site multiple times. Ab interno methods for localized delivery of a fluid composition into Schlemm's canal are further described.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERY OF SUBSTANCES WITHIN A PREFILLED SYRINGE
An apparatus includes a housing, a carrier, a medicament container, and a flexible member. The housing defines an opening placing a gas chamber of the housing in fluid communication with an exterior volume. The carrier has a proximal surface that defines a portion of the gas chamber. The medicament container is coupled to the carrier and has a distal end portion coupled to a delivery member. The medicament container containing a medicament and includes an elastomeric member that seals the medicament therein. The flexible member has a distal end portion coupled to the elastomeric member and a proximal end portion coupled to a valve member. The flexible member transitions from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration when the elastomeric member moves within the medicament container. The flexible member moves the valve member relative to the opening when the flexible member transitions from the collapsed configuration to the expanded configuration.
AUTO INJECTOR WITH EFFECTIVE INSERTION SYSTEM
An auto injector for delivery of administering a medicament comprising: a housing; an electrical motor adapted to move a piston between proximal and distal positions in a longitudinal direction of the auto injector; a syringe holder extending from a proximal to a distal end and configured to receive a syringe, a first spring adapted for moving the syringe holder with the syringe proximally for insertion of the needle; wherein the electrical motor is the only motor in the auto injector.
BALL LOCK ASSEMBLY WITH RETENTION PIN
In an aspect, the present invention is directed to a ball lock assembly comprising a retention pin for use with an injection device. The ball lock assembly includes a ball lock frame and a ball lock core housed within the ball lock frame that includes a longitudinal opening within which a portion of the pin is positioned. In other aspect, the present invention is directed to an injection device that includes the ball lock assembly of the present invention and a method of using the same.
AUTO-INJECTOR WITH UNIFORM PRESSURE EXERTION OF A PRIMARY CONTAINER
Parenteral delivery of a beneficial agent using an auto-injector configured for reduction of forces acting on a primary container for the beneficial agent during activation of the auto-injector. The primary container may be disposed within a pressure chamber of the auto-injector such that an increased pressure within the pressure chamber during activation is applied to a stopper of the primary container and an external surface of a sidewall of the primary container. In turn, a pressure differential between a containment volume of the primary container and the pressure chamber may be reduced or eliminated. In turn, forces acing on the primary container in response to the pressure increase in the pressure container may be reduced or eliminated. Configurations are also provided for improved relative movement between a stopper and a sidewall of the primary container for more reliable injection.
Cartridge insertion for drug delivery device
A method and assembly are disclosed for interfacing between a drug cartridge and a drug delivery device. Optionally, the drug delivery device includes a compartment that retains the cartridge during drug delivery and/or a stopper pushing assembly mounted to the device behind (proximal to) the compartment. In some embodiments, the cartridge may be inserted laterally into the compartment in front of the pushing assembly. For example, the delivery device may include a moving cartridge bay. The cartridge is optionally inserted into the bay and/or the bay and cartridge optionally move into the cartridge compartment. Alternatively or additionally, the cartridge compartment may have a proximal opening into which the cartridge is inserted and/or the pushing assembly may be moved into position after insertion of the cartridge. In some embodiments the cartridge may have a distal seal that is broken by a longitudinal movement.
Pressurized gas injection device and method
A device and a method for adjustable quantitative injection of high-pressure gas are provided, wherein the gas may have a pressure of 5 MPa or more than 5 MPa. The gas may be directly communicated with a gas tank in the mechanism or an external gas source, flows through corresponding valves, and is charged into a predetermined or adjustable reservoir. Alternatively, the valve may be time-controllable, and does not need the reservoir. The gas is ejected through a nozzle selected based on depth or range of injection, wherein a one-way valve is disposed between the nozzle and the body to prevent contamination due to backflow. The manipulator can exert an appropriate force onto a target portion of a human for gas injection, and when the injection is done, a biasing member can automatically return the mechanism to its original state, ready for the next injection.
