The heat dissipating assembly includes a number of convection units, each heat convection unit is disposed immediately adjacent a number of the heat exchanging element.

Contactor health monitoring systems and methods

A contactor arrangement includes a post, a fastener and a temperature sensor. The post defines a post axis. The fastener is fixed to the post along the post axis. The temperature sensor is in thermal communication with the contactor conductor and post through the fastener and is electrically insulated from the post for monitoring resistive heat generation in a contactor fixed to the post by the fastener.

TEMPERATURE INDICATOR FOR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
20180292269 · 2018-10-11 ·

A system for determining when an electrical contact or other component reaches a predetermined temperature. In operation, a trace material is dispersed into a surrounding environment (e.g., head space within a compartment above insulating oil), where the trace material is detected. A barrier may be ruptured or broken by temperature-induced gas pressure, or pierced by a spring-loaded member that is located within the same section that contains the trace material, and devices may be provided for moving the trace material through the foil barrier as the barrier is ruptured. The barrier may be opened solely by internal gas pressure. According to another embodiment, improved fail-safe operation may be achieved by providing a spring-loaded member and configuring the barrier to be ruptured by the pressure of the detectable gas material before the barrier is ruptured by the spring-loaded member.

ELECTRIC-WIRE PROTECTION DEVICE

An electric-wire protection device includes a voltage adjustment unit that adjusts the voltage to a load, and a controller that includes a temperature calculation unit that calculates temperature information on an electric wire from a value of current, and makes the voltage adjustment unit into a shut-off state based on the temperature information. The temperature information is calculated from an amount of temperature changes based on the current value and a predetermined initial value. The controller shifts into a sleep state when a sleep condition is satisfied that includes a condition that the temperature information is lower than the initial value. The initial value when the controller returns from the sleep state is based on a convergence value of temperature in conducting energization on the electric wire at a maximum value of steady-state current.

ELECTRIC WIRE PROTECTION DEVICE

An electric wire protection device includes a voltage adjuster that adjusts voltage on a power source side to be supplied to a load and a controller that includes a temperature calculation part which calculates temperature information of an electric wire based on a current value flowing through the voltage adjuster. The controller sets a first time constant as a time constant used to calculate the temperature information while the voltage adjuster is in the interrupted state, and sets a second time constant as a time constant used to calculate the temperature information while the voltage adjuster supplies power to the load. The first time constant is a value larger than the second time constant and equal to or larger than an actual time constant of the electric wire, and the second time constant is a value smaller than the actual time constant of the electric wire.

A method of controlling an electromagnetic relay includes supplying a first voltage to an exciting coil to bring a movable terminal into contact with a fixing terminal; causing a coupling state determination unit to determine that a coupling failure is detected in a case where the movable terminal is not brought into contact with the fixing terminal and the electromagnetic relay is not turned on despite the supplying the first voltage to the exciting coil; and supplying a second voltage higher than the first voltage from a booster circuit to the exciting coil in a case where the coupling state determination unit determines that the coupling failure is detected. The second voltage is generated by boosting the first voltage by the booster circuit.
