Systems With Durable Coatings
An electronic device may have input-output devices such as keyboard keys or other buttons. Components such as cameras and other devices may have trim structures. A housing may be used to form an enclosure for the components. Keyboard keys, trim structures, and/or other device structures such as housing structures may be provided with wear-resistant coatings. For example, a keyboard key may have a glyph such as an alphanumeric character formed from patterned layers of ink. To prevent wear to the key and glyph, the glyph may be coated with a wear-resistant coating. The wear-resistant coating may be formed from a polymer with embedded mineral particles such as aluminosilicate particles.

Keyboard key switches
Key switches of the inventive subject matter are designed to give users the tactile feel of key switches from expensive mechanical keyboards without drawback typically associated with alternative key switches. In some embodiments, key switches described in this application are designed to function with a sheet of membrane switches, while in other embodiments, key switches of the inventive subject matter incorporate optical switching in place of membrane switching. Embodiments for use with membrane switching feature a plunger and rocker combination that prevents the pressure from a user's key press from being directly transferred to a membrane switch, thereby reducing wear and tear. In optical switching embodiments, pressing the key switch causes an actuator, e.g., come between an optical emitter/receiver pair to register a key press.

Keyboard device and touch key structure thereof
A keyboard device includes a circuit substrate, a control unit and plural touch key structures. The control unit is installed on the circuit substrate. Each touch key structure includes a base plate, a keycap, a connecting element and a touch-sensitive circuit layer. The base plate is detachably installed on the circuit substrate. The keycap is located over the base plate. The connecting element is arranged between the base plate and the keycap. The keycap is movable upwardly or downwardly relative to the base plate through the connecting element. The touch-sensitive circuit layer is arranged between the base plate and the keycap, and electrically connected with the control unit. After a touch signal is received by the touch-sensitive circuit layer, the touch signal is transmitted to the control unit, and the touch signal is converted into an input signal by the control unit.
