Medicament delivery device and methods for delivering drugs to infants and children
A method of delivering epinephrine includes placing a distal end surface of a medical injector into contact with a target location of a patient. The medical injector includes a housing, an energy storage member, and a medicament container containing a dose of epinephrine effective for administration to the patient experiencing anaphylaxis and having a weight of less than 15 kg. The medicament container is coupled to a needle. The medical injector is actuated such that the energy storage member produces a force to move the needle from a first needle position to a second needle position. A distal tip of the needle extends from the distal end surface by a distance of between 7 millimeters and 8 millimeters when the needle is in the second needle position. A portion of the force is exerted to expel the dose of epinephrine when the needle is in the second position.
Dual-chamber delivery device
A drug delivery device configured to provide a dose of a first medicament followed by a dose of a second medicament is disclosed. The device includes a main exterior body and an interior body. The device further includes a dual-chamber reservoir with (i) a first chamber holding the first medicament and (ii) a second chamber holding the second medicament. The device also includes a needle and a plunger. After activation of the device, the plunger is configured to (i) move the dual-chamber reservoir a given distance in a distal direction with respect to the interior body so that a distal end of the needle extends out of the interior body and (ii) after moving the dual-chamber reservoir the given distance, move in the distal direction with respect to the dual-chamber reservoir so as to eject from the needle the first medicament followed by the second medicament.
Mixing and/or reconstitution system
Systems and methods for mixing and/or reconstituting drugs are presented. A system may include an injection device, a vial, a needle, and a base station. The device has a chamber containing a first material. The vial has a chamber containing a second material. A drive unit of the base station moves the vial and/or the housing of the device relative to each other into an activated position. In the activated position, the needle is fluidly connected with the vial's chamber, and the drive unit is connected to a driver that moves the plunger in the axial direction of the device such that during fluid connection of the needle with the vial's chamber the first material is expelled from the device's chamber into the vial's chamber or the second material is expelled from the vial's chamber into the device's chamber.
Reconstitution device, system and method
A disposable fluid transfer and mixing device is disclosed and includes an injector support surface for receiving an injection device thereon. A lyophilized drug vial, a diluent vial and a syringe are also attached to the device. The device features fluid passageways and a manual valve that may be manipulated so that the syringe may be used to transfer diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial, for reconstitution of the drug. The valve may also be configured so that the reconstituted drug is transferred from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device. An automated transfer and mixing device receives an injection device, a lyophilized drug vial and a diluent vial and transfers diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial and shakes or vibrates the lyophilized drug vial to reconstitute the drug. The device then transfers the reconstituted drug from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device.
Injection device, in particular autoinjector, for the simultaneous administration of several medications
An injection device is disclosed for the administration of several medications. The injection device includes a carrying housing, an activation sleeve surrounding the carrying housing, at least two carpules, a first drive module for the administration of the medications, a securing device, a needle arrangement, a needle protection element, and a second triggerable drive module for the needle arrangement. The first drive module includes a drive element with a number of piston rods equal to the number of carpules. At least one of the piston rods is configured in the form of a hollow cylinder the is closed on the piston side, wherein arranged inside this is a first drive means of the first drive module. The first drive means can be arranged in an accommodation part of the drive element, wherein the accommodation part forms with the piston rods a composite structural unit.
RECONSTITUTION AUTO-INJECTOR
An auto-injector operable to deliver a drug to a patient. The auto-injector may include a storage assembly with a first compartment and second compartment arranged to transition from an initial state in which the first compartment and the second compartment are separated to a merged state. The auto-injector may include a merging trigger configured for actuation responsive to manipulation and a merging mechanism comprising a compression element. Actuation of the merging trigger may cause movement of the merging mechanism such that the compression element compresses the first compartment.
SYSTEM FOR OPERATING SYRINGE
Proposed is a system for operating a syringe. The system includes an apparatus for operating a syringe in which a syringe filled with one or more fluids is mounted and that includes a motor configured to selectively discharge the one or more fluids filled in the syringe by moving forward and backward a piston of the syringe, and a controller configured to control movement of the piston of the syringe through the motor, in which the controller moves the piston to follow a predetermined motion on the basis of a set mode when recognizing a request to operate or stop the apparatus for operating a syringe.
APPARATUS FOR OPERATING SYRINGE
Proposed is an apparatus for operating a syringe. The apparatus includes a body in which a syringe filled with one or more fluids is mounted, an actuator disposed behind the body and configured to selectively discharge the one or more fluid filled in the syringe by moving forward and backward a piston, and a cover having a shape surrounding a top of the syringe, hinged at a side to the body, and configured to cover the syringe mounted in the body by rotating through a hinge, thereby fixing the syringe with the body.
INJECTION SYRINGE
An injection syringe for injecting a first injectable product into a body injection site of an individual, includes a first barrel containing a first product, a first syringe barrel containing the first injectable product, a first plunger displaceably mounted in the first syringe barrel; a hollow needle to be inserted into the body injection site; an adapter connected to the first syringe barrel and the needle, and a verification device to ensure that, when the first injectable product is injected, the hollow needle is not introduced into a blood vessel. The verification device includes a second syringe barrel containing a second product and connected to the adapter and a second plunger displaceably mounted in the second syringe barrel to cause a depression at the distal end of the hollow needle.
