Medicament delivery device
A medicament delivery device (100) for delivery of medicament through a cannula (132) from a cartridge (10), the device comprising a first container (11) for storage of a first substance, a second container (12), and valve means for closing a distal end of the second chamber (12), the second container (12) being arranged coaxially with respect to the first container (11), a mixing element (304) being provided for causing displacement of the second substance into the first container (11) through the valve means in a mixing stroke, a release element being provided for holding the mixing element (304) in an initial position and being operable to release the mixing element (304) to initiate the mixing stroke, there being a needle shroud (400) for shrouding the cannula, and removal of the needle shroud (400) from the cannula (132) causing operation of the release element.
Automatic reconstitution for dual chamber syringe
An automatic mixing device, an actuating device removably mounted to the automatic mixing device and a retractable syringe having the automatic mixing device are provided. The actuating device has an initially compressed spring and a trigger member that initiates spring decompression to drive depression of a mixing plunger of the automatic mixing device. A seal located in the outer chamber is capable of axial movement upon depression of the mixing plunger, from a first position in sealing engagement with one or more apertures in an inner barrel to a second position intermediate the apertures and vents in an outer barrel. This allows depression of the mixing plunger to force a first substance from the outer chamber through the apertures to mix with a second substance in an inner chamber of the inner barrel. The mixed substance in the inner barrel is then delivered by the syringe with subsequent needle retraction.
Applicator
There is provided an applicator including: a first liquid flow path through which a first liquid containing fibrinogen passes; a second liquid flow path through which a second liquid containing thrombin passes; a confluence section in which the first liquid and the second liquid merge with each other to form a mixed liquid; and a gas flow path through which a gas for jetting the mixed liquid passes. At least part of a wall portion defining the confluence section is composed of a gas-permeable membrane that is impermeable to the mixed liquid and permeable to the gas.
AUTO-INJECTOR
An auto-injector operable in a single activation step. The auto-injector is automatically armed when removed from its carrying receptacle. The auto-injector may be prefilled with more than one constituent of a beneficial agent, stored in separated compartments, in such an arrangement that the compartments will automatically merge when the auto-injector is removed from its carrying receptacle.
Pharmaceutical injection device
The pharmaceutical injection device includes a pharmaceutical syringe mounting portion (3) provided within a main body case (2) and to which a pharmaceutical syringe (4) is removably mounted, a piston (5) provided movably with respect to the pharmaceutical syringe (4) mounted to the pharmaceutical syringe mounting portion (3), a drive mechanism (6) for driving the piston (5), a controller (7) that is electrically connected to the drive mechanism (6), a display section (35) that is connected to the controller (7), and an encoder (26) that is connected to the controller (7) and detects the amount of the pharmaceutical remaining inside the pharmaceutical syringe (4). The controller (7) displays a warning on the display section (35) recommending removal of the pharmaceutical syringe (4) from the pharmaceutical syringe mounting portion (3) when the presence of a pharmaceutical is detected by the encoder (26).
Needle cannula position as an input to operational control of an injection device
A method is disclosed for state sensing and controlling of a multi-state drug delivery device. In some embodiments a power switch is reused as a state sensor. Optionally the state sensor may be toggled by user actions and/or the movements of parts of the device, for example needle and/or a protective element. Optionally, drug discharge and/or status indication is controlled in accordance with sensor output. In some embodiments control is by means of a processor. Alternatively or additionally, control is by means of simple physical circuits.
Medicament delivery devices for administration of a medicament within a prefilled syringe
An apparatus includes a housing, a medicament container and a movable member. The medicament container is movable within the housing between a first position and a second position in response to a force produced by an energy storage member. A proximal end portion of the medicament container includes a flange and has a plunger disposed therein. A first shoulder of the movable member exerts the force on the flange to move the medicament container from the first position to the second position. A portion of the first shoulder deforms when the medicament container is in the second position such that at least a portion of the force is exerted upon the plunger. A second shoulder of the movable member exerts a retraction force on the flange to move the medicament container from the second position towards the first position.
Portable Drug Mixing and Delivery Device and Associated Methods
A telescoping portable drug mixing and delivery device configured to store a dry medication separately from a liquid component, wherein a tensile force applied between the housing and a cap opens a valve and causes displacement of a fluid from a first chamber to a second chamber while simultaneously mixing the fluid with a dry medicament prior to injection. An extendable needle guard is provided over the delivery assembly which prevents premature injection as well as inadvertent sticks or other cross contamination of a needle. The needle guard can also form part of a secondary trigger mechanism which injects the reconstituted drug after the mixing stage is complete.
Automatic administration instrument for medical use
An automatic administration instrument includes a syringe and a partition wall in the syringe which partitions the syringe into different rooms for respectively holding plural kinds of drug solutions or a drug and a drug solution. A partition-wall driver displaces the partition wall and an injection needle is connected to the syringe. A body cap attached to the administration instrument body so as to cover the injection needle. The syringe, the partition wall, and the body cap are configured such that displacing the partition wall dissolves or mixes the drug solutions or the drug and the drug solution in a state that the injection needle is covered by the body cap.
Dispense interface
The invention relates to a dispense interface for an ejection device comprising a first part and a second part, at least a first opening, a second opening and a third opening, a fluidic channel and a connection element for each of the openings, wherein the first part is joined to the second part to form at least a part of the fluidic channel connecting the openings with each other and wherein at least one connection element is configured to accept a needle assembly for a fluid tight connection with the corresponding opening and wherein at least one connection element is configured to provide a releasable push fit connection for a fluid tight connection with an ejection device in order to reduce the complexity and provide an easy usage of the dispense interface and at the same time overcome the problems of material compatibility and cross contamination. The invention also relates to a system with a dispense interface according to the invention. The invention further relates to a method for preparing a dispense interface according to the invention.
